Judy | 4065 comments It does sound pretty good! I just looked her up on the German Amazon and found out that I've actually read one of her books! Finding Cassie Crazy which I loved a lottttt way back when I read it. (It actually has a pretty stupid title in German though...)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12885 comments Can't wait to get started on my King! Using the time before to try and finish Monte Cristo... Unfortunately the work thing has been getting in the way. On the upside, today is my last day, and from tomorrow I am officially unemployed and will hopefully get some time to read, lol.

Unemployed is not so cool, but yay for reading time! It's so annoying when the work thing gets in the way...

I have another ~170 pages left in my book, but I wasn't going to start a new book right on the spot anyway as the starting time of the challenge is 11pm my time. ;-)

Start time is 8am UK time tomorrow E! Checking at the end of weeks, and week 2+ start times are 10pm UK. But I couldn't wait that long to start reading, so added a few hours on to week 1 ;-P

Clearly, maths is not my forte hahaha. I saw 17ish hours and figured I had aaaaaaall day. I keep forgetting about sleeping hours, oops. But who needs sleep anyway, right?

But in that case... well... I might have to put my current read on ice for a little bit... ;-)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12885 comments Well, as I've been working as an unpaid volunteer for the past 5 years, unemployment isn't as bad a thing as it could have been, lol.
But the charity is relocating, and as I don't have my own transport I won't be joining them (we're being forced out by ASDA, who apparently think it's ok to effectively destroy the only charity looking after a particular group of starving children. I'm guessing that's the Walmart influence. Grrrrr).

But I guess it leaves me free to get back into paid employment, which will take a little of the pressure off hubby, who is self employed, with all the stress that comes with that :)

In the meantime, I'm gonna read me some books! lol.

I do most of my reading between 7 and 9am, before hubby gets up, so much appreciated! :D

I think I'm going to lead by very bad example... ;-)

I'm taking my current read to work tomorrow so I can finish it before I'm going to start a book of the Brown.

Sorry! But I just really want to know how to finish this because I want to know what happened. :-)

In case you're curious, the book is The Way of All Flesh.

And on that note, I am going to disappear from the computer.

12 more hours!!

I have realised I am never finishing Monte Cristo in time, but as I only signed up for one a week, I think I can still manage it before the end of RSU, lol.

Hope your book turns out awesome! :)

Oh I loved that one. Got it from NetGalley and I thought the story and the character development was fantastic.
I have read articles suggesting this will be a 7-8 book series and that the TV rights have been bought by Benedict Cumberbatch. :D

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6399 comments I love how we are such a chatty (and committed) team.

Got the feeling we are going to kick some butt in this Wheelathon!

I'm just finishing a book and will be ready to read tonight!

I've noticed that quite often in team challenges the chattiest groups also do well point wise.

Don't know yet whether I'll start with something I have downloaded on my kindle or wait until I'm home and start with a library book.

Tina ❣ (nutrinut) | 2000 comments The challenge starts during my work. I don't think I can read during it. I still haven't made up my mind with what to read for week 1.

I haven't managed to finish The Song of Achilles yet which I need to do for the Right Side Up challenge

Kristel | 287 comments We have less than 30 min before the start of the challenge! I hope all of you are ready to start reading:)

I'm personally starting with Aurora Rising, because I have about 12h before it expires on my overdrive library😅. Thankfully I have the entire day free, so hopefully, I'm able to finish it:)

Cumberbatch is overrated :-( Is he supposed to play Raven?

But yay! The second book is coming out at the end of the year and if they keep up the standard.... totally going to stick with this series! I still have ~100 pages to go but really am enjoying the character development as well.

Raven is a bit of an ass sometimes, but I like these totally flawed characters in stories :-)

If the title has a word that starts with a number, but also contains letters, how does one proceed? I'm thinking in particular of 1Q84, but I'm sure there are others.

You go with the letter the number starts with, since the number is an essential part of the title and would be considered as the first "letter" of the title.

In this example it would be O - as it's OneQ.....

I'm busy thinking of my own, too... without having read the book yet, I've got a couple:

"Analyse the sex scene in chapter x, making reference to believability and likely enjoyment factors"

" 'throbbing member' - do you find this description highly erotic or highly amusing?"

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6399 comments It is labelled as LGBTQ on the top shelves. Will that count if we land on the LGBT category? And how long does the BOM of the month count for?

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) wrote: "It is labelled as LGBTQ on the top shelves. Will that count if we land on the LGBT category? And how long does the BOM of the month count for?"

The LGBTQ tag won't count for the LGBT category, no, as we're being strict on the genres and only allow for plural/singular differences, but otherwise, tags need to be an exact match of the given genre.

But this book in question is also tagged LGBT (a little earlier in the list than the LGBTQ tag), so it'd be fine to use for that category should that be next week's genre and you're ending up reading it and carrying over :-)

Oh, and as for the second question:

BOMs need to be finished within a month after the start date of the BOM to get points for answering the questions.

Basically, same as usual :-)

Give me a Greek related book, especially about the Gods and I'll read it and most likely enjoy it.

I'm about 2/5 in and it's going okay so far! I thought the POV would have been Achilles but it's not. I think I might like it more if it was his. It's been on my to read shelf for ages so yay for finally reading it!

I think I like it so far. It's definitely intriguing me. I thought it was going to launch straight into the war with Troy but it hasn't. I must see that come into play and if it doesn't... D:<

It was quite good. I definitely liked the premise and I'm going to read the next one when it comes out. The romance part for me was the weakest. It's fine to have it, but not every character has to pair up. One of the main character and her love interest had literally zero chemistry and it came out of nowhere..
