A Tangle of Gold

I think I shall dive into Don Quixote (both author's initials fit letters), and keep my lgbt books in reserve :)
Judy and Tina are also reading Perfect Formation, though I'm not sure when they'll finish, so we might have another one for the top shelf for week 2 in those already.
And I think that will definitely bring us to 10 as I can try and pick up a second LGBT book.
So, Sammy, if you want to go for your fat book - go for it! We'll manage just fine and can keep your other options as reserves for next time, should we get this genre again :-)

I checked my shelves and I can easily do more for the genre if needed. (Uni finished for the semester today - woohoo!!)

So we're ok to start books before the week starts as long as we don't finish them until after? The extra couple of days will give me the chance to alternate with the rather less taxing Series of Unfortunate Events, lol.

I needed a break after chapter 8. I'll try to get back to the schedule tomorrow

That's what I'm doing. I read up until the end of today's section and got the DQ out of the way already, and I am not touching that book again until tomorrow haha.

Yaay!! You're free!
Wait, today was your last exam, right? Or do you have another one coming up?

Yes, you can start books before another week starts. As long as you started before the challeneg start date (14 Jun) and finished during the week you want to count it in:)

The Upside of Unrequited (A author, C character, M character)
Her Royal Highness (M character)
The Miseducation of Cameron Post (M title, C character)
To Night Owl from Dogfish (N title, M author, A character)
Noteworthy (N title)
If I Was Your Girl (I title, M author, A character)
plus like 10 more I don't own yet or have out from the library (but that should be easily available). I'll 100% read HRH & Night Owl cause those loans run out next week.
obviously there might be more characters for letters :-)

I'm listening to a historical fiction book as well which I could finish tomorrow? I don't know.
I have to get vaccines for travel tomorrow and then go to work so we will see if I do any reading

Title: Finale
Author: Stephanie Garber
Date read: 19 Jun, 2019
Pages: 496
Letters: C - Caraval (series); F- Finale (title)

Where are you off to? :-)
And don't worry if you don't finish the book tomorrow. The first week runs until Friday evening, London time. If you wanted that book to count for the first week that is.

Then again... "tomorrow" is relative... it's almost Thursday for you already, isn't it?
Time zones... they just love screwing with your head, don't they?

I'm going to Thailand! Woo! I haven't traveled overseas since 2008 and I'm excited and nervous
I don't know how the internet situation will be there. We've booked in hostels with free Wifi so I hope it works well?

So I'm thinking to nearly finish a few books for week 2 after the right side challenge finishes
Ah yes, internet while traveling is sometimes a little iffy. I usually just poof completely and don't worry about it. But that doesn't always work with team challenges going on hehe.
Thailand sounds exciting!! Are you going to do inland or beaches? Both?
How long are you going to be travelling for?

Sorry, I know I'm late to the party but it was long work day. I just managed to log into GR to check.
I'll check what letters are missing at the moment to see if I can feel them.
Omg, I'm so stupid o.O
I compleeeetely forgot that you read those, too! There was never even a question about wondering whether we'd get the 10 together or not...
I actually almost feel ashamed now haha.

My books can be back-up in case someone changes mind and don't want to read to cover tag.
I can jump on M.J. O'Shea books (in case they are long enough). How many O's you think we'll need? :P

Title: Perfect Formation
Author: K.B. Alan
Date read: 19/6/2019
Pages: 206
Letters: C (character Caleb), E (character Elsie)
BOM: DQ participation 1 2 3

Question:
On the team sheet it has a bit for difficult letters. How does that work? Only the I and O seem to come up naturally in the target words, so will they be needed for some other reason? Only wondering as my book can also be a Q ;)

Like most of the things here, it's a luck thing - you may be unlucky to get word with 'difficult' letters, but you get extra bonus for each of letter you cover :)

Wooow, you rated it one whole star! :-DD
Maybe I'll just rip the band-aid off tomorrow and push through until the end. Aah... good times... (can't even stay serious for long enough to type that)

I guess that depends on what you are usually reading. For example, I love Julia Quinn books :P
I usually have trouble with U, X, Z. Sometimes E and I. I started saving those books (first 3) for challenges like this. When I have to read something with that letter out of wheels, I feel like I wasted a letter :P
But doing other solo challenges that need spelling something, usually I get stuck on some common letter like T, or N, or S.

You're right, I'd never heard of her! lol.
I find I struggle with I. Only read one books with an I all year, and I need a few more for other solo challenges. Luckily there's no time limit on them, so I'll get to it when I get to it :)
I have a TON of Z books at home, because hubby's favourite author is David Zindell, and I really enjoy his books too, so if that ever comes up, I'm sorted!
Wouldn't even know where to begin with X...

I considered not giving it a rating cause it kind of doesn't even deserve 1 star but oh well 😂
I'm definitely glad I don't have to return to this again and can now read some good books - would recommend just getting it over with 😉

Never heard of that author. What kind of books does he write?
For I, I usually go with Ilona Andrews. X is a little harder. They're a more random find. And I agree with Tea. I try to keep them for these kinds of challenges. Reading them outside of these challenges does feel like a waste. It's so weird ;-)

And yes, Ilona has been great find for I, but I'm kinda starting to get short on books. I guess at one point I'll have to start rereading them (Innkeeper already has been reread each time in wait for next book/online chapters)
Wheels (and similar challenges) can be useful if finding suggestions for some rare letters.

Sci-fi and fantasy, mostly. (his Requiem for Homosapiens series will be good for space opera! lol)
Highly recommended author.
Just popping by to say this back room BOM is excruciating !
I finished a suspense book and will post the completion when I’m back on a computer later today

Back Door... haha. Fitting enough ;-)
Erotica really has become quite mainstream and less of an unspeakable topic. Which is quite nice, people becoming more open, I mean.

lol! No, it really shouldn't be the descriptive word for an erotica book!
I have to say, the first sex scene in Naked in Death is so much better imo. It makes the backroom BOM seem even worse in comparison xD

Oh yes, that is definitely a much better sex scene!
In general, I think it isn't very hard to top this book as far as writing is concerned...
