The Hopefuls discussion

Hey Hopefuls!! This group has existed for almost seven(???) months and there are 2,830 members!! Isn't that amazing?!!??!

Anyway as the creator of the group I was hoping I could get some feedback from you guys. What you like, what you don't like, what could be changed, ideas, any problems you have, what could be improved, what you think of the bookclub, etc. I want this group to be the best place it can be and this would really help (as well as telling me that you guys actually enjoy it here).

I really enjoy everything about the group. I have made friends and have had amazing conversations with other Hopefuls. Everyone is nice and respectful. I personally don't participate in the book club though so I can't really give feed back on that, sorry. But everything else I have done in the group is awesome :)

I think I'm safe in saying this is one hell of a group. I've had many wonderful conversations with people and have even made a few friends (!!!). Everyone I've come across has been very open to discussion and such. It was kind of like joining an old group of friends.
I don't really participate in the book club because I don't like buying books all that much, but from what I've seen it looks great. I've read If I Stay a couple of years ago so hopefully I can participate in this one. :)

that is so true. I am trying to vary the selection a bit from now on but I would love any suggestions for books and you can always add any book you like to the poll. thanks

Hi this isn't really something one person can help with, and I'm scared I'm bringing it up too much! But maybe it's only the chat I'm in, but people don't seem to be talking like they used to in the book club chats it's like nobody wants to discuss :( but I really do and I don't wanna nag anyone

Hey. I've noticed that too, the book club really isn't what it used to be. not as many people are into it or chatting. I really don't know what to do about it though. I've been trying but idk. sorry.

There just aren't as many people still participating in general lately.

I would participate, but I'm in my last year of school and I don't really have the time. Maybe when summer gets here and I'm done with school I'll start to participate more.

I have noticed that as well. I am guilty though of course. I need to get back into the habit of checking threads and talking on here. It is fun to chat with everyone and I miss it. Thank you for bringing that up. As a matter of fact, I will put an update on the journaling thread soon. Maybe tomorrow. And of course as far as the book club goes I can't really comment since I don't take part in the book club. Have a lovely day.

I'm in the same boat as Morganna. I'll try to participate more often though, because well, it's fun haha :) I think many people (myself included) got here after Carrie mentioned Goodreads on one of her videos, but since that was over a year ago, I'm assuming some Hopefuls forgot about this website. Anyways, I'll do my best to participate more!

Yeah. I had an account on here before Carrie mentioned it but I only really started to use it actively after her video

I'm also in the last year of school boat (good luck to all of us) and I also realised a while ago that if I like a group of people I'm most likely not going to like their books so I'd probably keep myself out of this for yall :P

I LOVE THIS GROUP! It keeps me hopeful! :)

This is my first time doing booktober and im very excited!!!! I will be reading:
-The Death Cure (maze runner series)
-There will be lies by Nick Lake
-The Enemy by charlie higson
-Dead by Charlie Higson

If any of you have read these books would you recommend them? Also are there any other books you would recommend?

I'm sometimes afraid to post, since I tend to read in a very academic light - I'm not sure how many here read like that
