Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 5341 comments Today was our (hubby and me) last day in Depoe Bay, Oregon. Tomorrow we leave for Klamath Falls, and spend one night, then home on Friday fairly late.

I'm so excited for this one and I love you team name: PEACOCK. I actually had a pet peacock on my grandfather's farm when I was a little girl. LOL So ready to get this game/challenge started!

Thanks Felicia!

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 5341 comments We haven't talked strategy, but I went ahead and added my name to 2 places on the SS. I'll be on the road for most of the day both tomorrow and Friday, so if I seem MIA that's why. If claiming tasks is not the way we are going to go but rather wait until we have finished reading a book, feel free to remove my name from those spots. I won't mind. I just knew I wouldn't be able to get on the computer either until late tomorrow night or late Friday.

message 21: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 3851 comments Good point Vicki. Has anyone reviewed the rules, etc. to see how this game will work? Do we wait for something to happen that then prompts us to decide whish suspect, location or weapon we are going to go for? I'm all for pre-planning if we can.

message 22: by Vicki (last edited Jun 27, 2019 12:48AM) (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 5341 comments IF I understand correctly, the one thing I think we should do is to read both categories, whether that be one person or coordinating two readers per set. In the directions, it says, "Each team will be given a conclusion they will be working towards figuring out. The conclusions will be one Suspect, one Weapon, and one Place just like in the normal game. Once a team finishes both of the two categories for a S/W/P, during a score update I will have all of the S,W, & P listed and will cross them out as you go. If you should guess correctly I will comment in your teams chat thread that you have successfully guessed the S/W/P and you can cease completing categories for the remaining S/W/P."

So I think we should try doing our readings by category, finishing both together as much as possible.

message 23: by Keri (new)

Keri | 1873 comments Yes I think you’re right Vicki, that’s how I understand it also.

message 24: by Felicia (new)

Felicia | 15003 comments That is right ladies!

And I have you checked in Vicki! You guys are all checked in as well. :D

message 25: by Jammin Jenny (last edited Jun 27, 2019 08:45AM) (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 3851 comments Okay, then I think it makes sense for us to claim tasks we think we'll finish in the first week and try to match them up as much as possible for a S/W/P guess.

ETA: I picked two tasks for one suspect and two books for one place with books I'll be reading the first week in July.

message 26: by Felicia (new)

Felicia | 15003 comments Just so everyone is aware, score posts are going to look a little different this time around. There is going to be two extra columns in the scores post. One will be to keep track of the bonus points you'll receive as an individual. The other column will be keeping track of the amount of books a member reads. This column in no way effects your scores. It is so I can make sure members are reading the amount of books that they said they would when signing up.

Thanks, Felicia. :)

message 28: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments Awesome. I think I finally get this. lol. Took me long enough. :)

message 29: by Esther (new)

Esther | 1829 comments So when we put what book we are going to read on the SS, is our strategy to complete both of the requirements for one S/W/P? For example:

Marie Lu: Asian influence
female MC

Would I have to complete both of these things for Marie Lu?

message 30: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments No. I'm pretty sure you have to read two books.

message 31: by Felicia (new)

Felicia | 15003 comments It is one book per category. And no, anyone can read for any category. If you claim one category it is not solely your responsibility to fill the second category for that.

message 32: by Esther (new)

Esther | 1829 comments ok I think I get it

message 33: by Esther (last edited Jun 28, 2019 09:39PM) (new)

Esther | 1829 comments Does anyone want to BR A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1) by Sarah J. Maas .
I don't know if this is the right place to ask this.

message 34: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments Okay I think we should start adding our first book to the SS. We need to figure out who is reading what so we know we have a S, W and P covered. :)

message 35: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments NM. See some people have already added books. lol.

message 36: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments So I have added my books that I want to start with to 'Weapons' as that was looking a little sparse. :)

message 37: by Keri (new)

Keri | 1873 comments I’ll look at what’s claimed and see what I can do to complete a set of possible

message 38: by Jammin Jenny (new)

I'll BR that with you - can you request a thread? When did you want to start?

message 39: by Keri (new)

Keri | 1873 comments Ok I don’t have access to a computer today, so if someone can add The Storm Crow to ‘features magic’ that will complete a set of two and it’s my first July book.
If not, I’ll try to get computer access tomorrow or the day after to add it in.

message 40: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 3851 comments I put it in for you Keri.

message 41: by Keri (new)

Keri | 1873 comments Thanks! :-)

message 42: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments So if I'm still understanding how this works we should be very careful about posting our books and shouldn't post them as we read them. For instance if Jenny finishes Bark of Night as our first book we shouldn't then post any other suspect books until someone has finished a weapon's book and a location book.

message 43: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments I have added a banked tab so we can keep track of the books we have finished but can't post yet.

message 44: by Esther (new)

Esther | 1829 comments I am just a little bit confused. Why shouldn't we post certain books?

As soon as possible. I was kind of hoping July 1st but if that is too early then we could change it. (The thing is, this would be my first time doing a BR and I do not know what I am doing!)

message 46: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments BookWorm wrote: "I am just a little bit confused. Why shouldn't we post certain books?"

My understanding is we are looking for a S/W/P. One each. Although I guess we would need two books for each. Forgot about that.

So we don't want to post 6 S and 1 W and 3 P all at once as you can't move books to the next round. We want to be very carefuly to not waste any books. I don't know if I am explaining this well...

message 47: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 3851 comments Right - I get it. We need to post books when we have the two tasks for each S/W/P so we can make a guess.

message 48: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments Yes. So be very aware of what has already been posted. Keep in mind some of us might not use the SS so look on the review thread too before posting. I will try to help keep the SS up to date. :)

message 49: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 3851 comments Sounds great Book! Good looking out!
