The Sword and Laser discussion

I just saw that the Maze Runner movie is coming out this month. Having not read the book (it been on my to-read list for a long time but seems like I always have sth I want to read more) I don't know what to think of it.
What do you think. Will it be good as a movie?

I definitely vote read it. The sequels weren't as good IMO, but the first book is fantastic.

The movie looks pretty promising, they really did an amazing job with the cast and the sneak peeks have been cool.

I agree. I enjoyed the first book, but the sequels kind of went downhill.

However, the previews have looked good. I am kind of hoping the movies will be better.

I really enjoyed the first book, although it was a bit tough to get into at first. The characters kind of have their own slang language. It might have been easier to adapt if I was reading rather than listening to the audio book.

I have to agree with Tommy and Joel that the second and third books (or the prequel novella) did not quite live up to the promise of the first book.
