NetGalley

Feed Your Readers, the NetGalley Challenge

Duration: Monthly

How to Participate:

The NetGalley Challenge is designed to not only get you to read your NetGalley books, but to also advertise your reviews for others to see because after all, that's what NetGalley is all about.

Though you may pop in/out at any time, the NetGalley Challenge will run on a monthly basis so you are able to see progress being made.

1. At the beginning of the month, post any/all of the following:
a: How many books on your NetGalley shelf
b: What books are on your NG shelf
c: What your Netgalley feedback ratio is

2. During the month, read the NetGalley books that you can AND update your post with your reviews. (You can do this after each book or wait until the end of the month.)

3. At the end of the month, update your post and with:
a: What books you read
b: Link(s) to your review(s)**
c: Your updated shelf count
d: Your updated books to read
e: Your updated ratio

Then start a new post for the next month!

But Wait, There's More

Do you ever get so caught up in your reading that you don't want to stop to write your reviews?

Thinking about that, it was decided we need a "Review Weekend", once each month, set aside to write those reviews you've been not doing in favor of reading!

Review Weekends will vary randomly each month and is meant to be a time set aside to review. Take one, or both days and get caught up on reviews so you can spend the rest of the month reading!!

The next Review Weekend is set for July 20/21

**When linking your reviews, please link only to the book(s) here at GoodReads. At this time, linking to a personal blog is not allowed. Thank you!

Alison (a1ison74) | 2826 comments I considered a request ban this month but is it just me or are they adding a lot of great looking titles. 2nd day of July & I've added The Wallflower Wager (Girl Meets Duke, #3) by Tessa Dare to my shelf and requested The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes and To Be Taught, If Fortunate by Becky Chambers .

I will hopefully get my current read finished today and will absolutely definitely write my review up immediately (I probably won't) so it should keep things balanced.

Avid Reader and Geek Girl (avidreaderandgeekgirl) | 300 comments I'm working on reading two of my titles King of Fools (The Shadow Game, #2) by Amanda Foody & Cursed by Karol Ruth Silverstein . I hope to knock those two out before the 10th.

Vicki Willis | 496 comments I finished Big Sky (Jackson Brodie, #5) by Kate Atkinson and it was a complete miss for me. Even though it was #5 in the series, I do think it worked as a stand alone.
I just didn't care- about the character, or the story, nothing.
So many people rated it 4 and 5 stars, so I don't feel too bad about giving it a very poor rating. My review can be the outlier. :)
Just glad to get it off the shelf.

Kristie | 3595 comments I finally removed Sold on a Monday from my shelf. I've picked it up and put it down multiple times over a ten month period and only gotten to 35%. The last time I picked it up I thought it might start to get good, but I just haven't ever become really engaged with it and I have no desire to return to it, so I left a short review stating that it was slow to start and not for me at this time.

Sold on a Monday review

I got approved for
The Ex by Nicola Moriarty
which I am a bit excited about as the other two Moriarty sisters write great books. Hopefully it is a family trait ;)
Plus the review in the paper on the weekend was very good

Vicki Willis | 496 comments I just got two more approved that had been sitting there a while.

Manhunters How We Took Down Pablo Escobar, the World's Most Wanted Criminal by Steve Murphy Manhunters: How We Took Down Pablo Escobar, the World's Most Wanted Criminal The memoir based on the experiences of the guys who were in the first season of Narcos

Beneath the Attic by V.C. Andrews Beneath the Attic This one got HORRIBLE reviews, but the Dollanger series was my first "adult" reading, so I HAD to do it.

Lexi | 4254 comments I just crossed 80% so happy to have made it and finished my second one this month. Hexarchate Stories is only good for those who have read the trilogy but I loved Ninefox Gambit.

Vicki Willis | 496 comments Well, I ended up with 2 more getting approved while I was on vacation (which makes 4 this month). I guess when it rains it pours.

I am really looking forward to The Arrangement by Robyn Harding The Arrangement and it publishes next week so I will be starting it next.
and
Good Girls Lie by J.T. Ellison Good Girls Lie.

I also finished Good Girl, Bad Girl (Cyrus Haven, #1) by Michael Robotham which I really liked. The main character Cyrus was awesome and it appears that this book will be the start of a series.

Melanie (mvalente89) | 1026 comments Will we be getting an August thread soon? I'd love to forget how terribly I've done this month. Fitting Netgalley books into Wheel is not easy when the letters don't fit the word you get.

Tari (thann) | 314 comments Update to msg. 19: End of July:
Updated shelf count/books to read: 19 (was 18)
Updated ratio: 89 (was 90)
Books added in July: 6
Books read in July: 5

Guess I need to stop requesting for awhile! ;)

Kelly | 56 comments I added a lot more books than I expected this month but I'm happy I've read a few in July. I'm hoping to get Once Upon a River finished by tonight.

Barbara Sousa | 34 comments Ugh, July was a push for me. 3 books read/reviewed and 3 more added. Still not at the magical 80% yet. I'll have to do better in August. See message 16.
