I enjoyed re-visiting this, especially as I listened to the Audible version, with Hugh Fraser reading.

Yes, I can relate to Hastings- except how he’s always a sap for any pretty girl, he can be rather gullible!
Yes, gullible, but he has a trusting nature and I think Poirot - who certainly doesn't(!) - appreciates his general niceness.

Hugh Fraser has narrated quite a few of the Poirot stories, and does a masterful job each time IMO. He doesn't do a half bad impression of Poirot either!
This book kept me guessing right up until the end, which makes for a great page-turning mystery. I also thought the bond between Hastings and Bob was adorable. Its nice to see that Hastings can excel in certain areas that Poirot does not.

I meant to read this last month but never got round to it - however I have now started it as I can't keep on renewing the library book! I think it starts well and has immediately intrigued me.
I'm about a third of the way through now and living Bob. I was amused to see that Christie dedicated the book to her own pet dog, Peter!
Here we have Poirot's endearing adventure with the terrier. At least, I think it is endearing as I know the TV-episode very well and think it's lovely. Never read the book though, and the book is probably even better! So enjoy :-)
