Once the reading challenge starts, you can come over here and share the first book you're reading! Maybe you'll find someone else reading the exact same one?

Have you finished a book? Tell us as well! Maybe even add some of your thoughts about the book. Did you enjoy it? Or didn't you?

What's going to be your next read?

Every small progress you make, you can share here! Even if you just want to talk about a huge event that just occurred and you need to shout about it for a bit.

Caylynn | 8 comments The nice thing about having the first two days of the month off- you get to binge read all the books.

So far I've read
-Shadow of the Fox
-Doomed
-Red, White and Royal Blue

Vicki Willis I finished one that was more horror, but had a sci fi vibe to it.
Monstrosity by Edward Lee Monstrosity
It was violent, gory and fun (if you like that kind of thing). It was a fast read and had been on my TBR since 2015!

my review

I think I will start Vox by Christina Dalcher Vox next.

Megan | 26 comments Just finished my first sci-fi read of the month yesterday - All Systems Red, which was such a disappointment. I hated being thrown straight in with no explanation as to what was going on, and found the whole thing to be both horribly confusing and utterly boring.

I've sinced moved on to Sleeping Giants which is not necessarily what I thought it would be, but im really enjoying it so far. Although I cant stop picturing the giant robot as the one from Queen's News of the World album cover.

Kelly | 146 comments I've read approximately a quarter of my TBR list for this month so far. This is good going since I wrote my initial list and then added a couple more books a few days in!

I’ve read Red, White and Royal Blue a couple of weeks back and really enjoyed it!

Oh, Sleeping Giants has been on my TBR list for agesss... do let me know if its worth reading!

Jelena Milenković (kaliopi_ann) | 22 comments So far I managed to finish two romance books (Eloisa James) which were not part of the challenge but it’s summer so I gotta have my dose of romance and light and silly reads!
DEV1AT3 and Journey to the Center of the Earth definitely fits the challenge though!

CR (non-sci-fi-july related): HP#7 (I intended to read it at the end of the month and celebrate Harry’s birthday like that but oh, well, I just picked it up 🙈 might try to prolong its reading by switching to some other books that I plan to read this month..?

message 9: by Dana (new)

Dana Cristiana (silvermoon1923) I've just finished rereading The Wizard of Oz! It's brilliant! One of the best books ever!

Summer (speaking_bookish) (speaking_bookish) | 59 comments I finished On a Sunbeam by Tillie Walden and absolutely loved it! I gave it 4.5 ⭐️.

message 11: by Christopher (new)

Christopher (skitch41) | 13 comments I just finished reading Raven Stratagem by Yoon Ha Lee. I'm still a little meh on this series, but I didn't see the twist coming at the end of this installment. You can read my review here.

message 12: by Mary-Faith (new)

Mary-Faith | 13 comments So far this month I’ve read Captain Marvel: Higher, Further, Faster and A Gentleman in Moscow. Next I’m going to start my first sci-fi book of the month, Children of Eden.

message 13: by Summer (new)

Summer (speaking_bookish) (speaking_bookish) | 59 comments I finished Aurora Rising tonight and enjoyed it way more than I thought I would considering that I thought Illuminae was just okay. I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that this was told in normal novel format rather than mixed media, which is fun but ultimately is hard for me to take seriously. I can't wait for the next book!

message 14: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 146 comments I'm a good way through my TBR so far. Hopefully, I can finish my current reads this weekend. I seem to have either read faster this month or found more time to use for reading! :)

message 15: by Vicki Willis (new)

Vicki Willis I finished Vox by Christina Dalcher Vox and I really enjoyed it. It was different from my usual reads.

my review

I was going to start Red Clocks by Leni Zumas next, but will save it for August when there is a buddy read.

This isn't my usual genre, but I have enjoyed branching out and trying some of these.

message 16: by Christopher (new)

Christopher (skitch41) | 13 comments I know we're already into August, but I forgot to post my progress on the last two Sci-fi books I had on my list in July. First, I finished the book Revenant Gun (The Machineries of Empire, #3) by Yoon Ha Lee Revenant Gun by Yoon Ha Lee on July 23. You can read my review here. Then, I finished Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut on July 19. You can read my review here. I'm looking forward to tackling more of my TBR this month.

message 17: by Dana (new)

Dana Cristiana (silvermoon1923) Unfortunately, I haven't finished anything sci-fi this month. June and July are the only months I haven't completed (I read other books but haven't finished anything in that categories).

But I'll do better! This is a promise to myself!
