I am really confused by this. Must you listen to the videos and then create your lists? Is there no place that all the information is listed to actually read? Just curious...

There's a lot of links in the description of the video, including the prompts. There's also the Careers list, which you can pick a career from and that tells you which NEWTS you need to pass. Choosing a career is optional; It's just a bit of fun. :)

Hi Meghan! I'll be trying to participate in this readathon, but we'll see how far I get considering my library is closed until further notice. Good luck to you!!

Alison | 1082 comments Hi...I am participating in the 2020 Magical Readathon! I am studying to be a Magizoologist and also trying to complete the Dragon Tamer seminar! Since we are in a shelter in place order, I think I will try to complete every subject but we will see how that goes 😉 I am halfway through my first subject, Herbology (read a book that starts with “M”)...I am reading Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz 📚🥳

Hi! So happy to have someone here that is participating. I've started with Jane Eyre for Divination, and Break Your Glass Slippers for Potions. I'll be reading M is for Magic by Neil Gaiman for Herbology task. It's not exactly easy getting books for specific prompts, is it? I have a huge collection of unread books, so I have some choice, but we're leaning heavily on library ebooks!

Happy reading 😊

Keiko | 22 comments I'm participating! I'm going for the Magizoologist career! I might complete some of the other subjects if I'm in the mood, but it's hard to make what I already own fit all the prompts. I've already finished my Charms book!

Herbology: Matched

Hey, how is it going? How many OWLS do you need for alchemy?

message 21: by Satin (new)

Satin (satin_ss) | 365 comments I need 12 books total, and have read 6 at the moment

message 22: by Eva (new)

Eva You can still make it, Satin! Especially if you read short stories (Heartbeat is what I've just read for Ancient Runes, very short, free on KU, found it by accident and loved it), plus graphic novels (I read Mooncakes for Herbology, but it would also work for History of Magic or Transfiguration), and novellas. I've had to realize that I just can't read 12 regular novels in one month. But with shorter stuff I might make it.

Alison | 1082 comments I just discovered that a “Visit to Hogsmeade” is scheduled for the week of June 22 - 28! This is a new Readathon that BookRoast (MagicalReadathon) posted on Twitter (I am not sure she if posted information on Instagram but I have seen a couple #’s associated with it). She is hosting a readathon June 22 -28 based on visiting the shops in Hogsmeade. You have to “unlock the entrance to Hogsmeade” by reading a book with a map, I believe, and then you can visit any shop you like and read a prompt associated with that shop 😊 BookRoast has made a map and listed the prompts and she has a video up on YouTube for those interested...this is something new she is doing this year in between the O.W.L.S. and N.E.W.T.S. exams. I will be participating...anyone else?
