Thoughts on this book?

Taylor Fangirl was actually better than I expected it to be - I thought it would be a standard young adult romance but I was pleasantly surprised. I don't even normally like romance novels all that much, but this one was entertaining and unique. Some of the characters even reminded me of my own friends from college!

Also, I didn't know much about fanfic until I read this, so it was interesting to learn a little bit about that.

This book was so-so. Read it long back so don't remember much but I think I found Eleanor and Park to be much better than this.

Deborah Parkin (geekydee) | 3 comments I just finished and I have to say that I really quite enjoyed it as I felt that I could relate quite well to Cath with regards to her parents and her quirks. The only complaint I have is that her relationship at the end didn't feel complete to me, but then if I'm reading a romance, I kind of want the happily ever after spelt out for me iykwim

Skyler Smith So, I started this book today....and finished this book today, haha. I LOVED Fangirl. It was so much more than I expected it to be. I have a really hard time getting through light, romantic books and I was really thinking Fangirl was going to be one of those. Instead, I was thrilled to find a poignant coming-of-age story that went far beyond my preconceptions. I know a lot of people felt that the ending was too abrupt but it seemed to fit in my opinion. That may be because, to me, I was more invested in the relationship Cath had with her sister and ultimately with herself, rather than her relationship with Levi. Not that I didn't enjoy Cath and Levi as a couple, I just feel that the story really was more about Cath's journey of discovering herself and her own strengths and abilities. The love story was just the icing on the cake. ;-) Ultimately for me though, I just loved the book.
