Fangs and Wishes
((That's perfect. I'll have mine up in a moment.))
((I can. Give me just a moment.))
London sat at the work bench, looking into the microscope at a sample of dirt from outside. Compared against a sample they had tried to cure. He sighed when he saw that they still looked exactly identical to each other. No change in the sample what so ever. When they had first started there work, he was certain they could do it. Even though he knew the reason they were here was only to keep up appearances, to seem as though something was being done about earth. But they had been given an impossible task. He sighed and sat back in his chair, running a hand down his face.

London looked over as she came in and shook his head, crossing his arms.
"Just the same old nothing." He said quietly. He looked over to the coffee cup and picked it up taking a sip. He let out a soft breath. "Thanks. "At least that's one thing I can count on." He half smiled a he looked over to her. At least he knew if they were going to be stuck on this dying rock, she would have his back.

London set his cup down and sighed, running a hand through his hair.
"I guess it's worth a shot." He said thoughtfully. "The only problem is getting to the lake." He pressed his lips together. It wasn't just the route getting there that was dangerous, but the things on the path. The animals that had survived wouldn't make it easy for them to get there. And plus they would have to wear those special suits.

London knew how she felt, watching as she sat down in her chair. They both had been picked for a reason, and slowly realized as they worked on this project that wasn't going anywhere, that it wasn't for the reasons they thought.
"Well we can't just give up...." He said quietly. "I know that's easier said then done right now but. "Even if we're here just for show." He blew out a breath, he wasn't even sure he believed his own words.

He blew out a breath, he didn't really want to go himself. But they couldn't really just sit around and do nothing either. He stood up after a moment, and finished off his coffee, before following after her. He grabbed one of the suits and started putting it on.

London put on the boots and the suit. He hated this part, but it was better then getting sick from whatever toxic air was out there. He zipped it up and turned to look at her.
"I can drive." He said grabbing the weapon off the wall, and putting it over his shoulder. Hoping they wouldn't need it this time. "Lets go." He headed over to the air lock.

London walked over and pressed the button on the wall. A flashing light coming over head as the door behind them closed. There was a hiss of air, and a warning alarm. Indicating that the airlock door was opening. It slowly opened, the alarm stopping as they were able to go outside. He took in a deep breath, glancing around as he walked forward over to the vehicle.

London got in after her, closing the door behind him. He put the keys in and started it up. The engine started to life noisily. They had been given what they needed. But not good equipment. All of there lab equipment was old and falling apart. Almost daily he had to make repairs. Just the other day he had to fix this piece of scrap metal they drove in. He shook it away as he started to drive.

It was a bit depressing as they drove along. The tress that had once been lush and green, looked no different then a stick that had been in the fire and plucked out. No leaves to speak of. And plants that were there, were shriveled and brown. He glanced over to her, taking in a deep breath. Trying to think of something to fill the air between them. He was about to say something when he gasped and had to swerve a bit. An animal quickly ran on to the road in front of them. Snarling and drooling at them.

London looked over to her as he heard her gasp.
"Are you alright?" He asked a bit worriedly. Looking at the whatever animal in the rear view mirror. It was trying to catch up with them, but he stepped on the gas a bit. He looked over to her again. "It's okay." He tried to reassure her. "It can't get us...."

((Do you mind swearing?))
((I don't mind. That's totally fine.))
London took in a deep breath. He hated seeing her like this. Upset and feeling hopeless. He clenched his jaw, looking back at the thing, before he pressed his lips together for a moment.
"I'll do it." He said to her. "I'll grab the sample and be back here before it can do anything."

He sighed as he heard her. He didn't care about the rule as long as she was safe and didn't get attacked by some undefined creature.
"I have a better idea." He said he checked to see where it was in the mirror again. Seeing it was still trying to come after them. He quickly stopped and grabbed the weapon he brought. He then opened the door and aimed it at the creature. He waited until it was close before he quickly fired. He heard it make a weird squealing noise before he jumped back in the car.

He looked in the mirror as he shut the door. It didn't stop right away. it came up to his door, and snarled weakly. Before it let out another final angry squeal and collapsed.
"Good...." He breathed and quickly started driving again. He looked over to her. "Just grab the sample as quickly as you can. "I'll have your back the whole time."

Once they stopped near the water, he looked over to her watching as she jumped out. Keeping his hand on his weapon just in case. He kept an eye on her, but kept his eyes around the area as well. Making sure nothing else would sneak up on them. It seemed just fine as she gathered the water. He felt relief as he saw her coming back, but felt his heart drop as he saw more of those creatures coming out of hiding. He clenched his jaw, gripping the weapon as he saw her hurrying back.

"Shit." London quickly hit the gas, and flipped the car around fast. Driving as fast as he could. He could see a couple of the creatures chasing after them now. Either the sound of the gun had drawn them in, or the fact that he had shot the other one. Either way they weren't to happy. He gritted his teeth as he focused on just getting them back. Once they did the defenses on the base would take care of them. At least that was one good thing they were left with.

London took in a few deep breaths as they pulled back into the safety of there base. He parked and looked over to her. Reaching his hand over and gently putting it on top of hers.
"Are you okay?" He asked her. Hoping she hadn't been hurt at all. He looked over as there turrets around the building flipped up and quickly made short work of the weird creatures.

He nodded his head slightly in agreement. Total and complete hell, and they were the ones left behind to extinguish the fires of hell. He felt a bit more relief when she said she was okay. Letting his hand drop to his side when she let it go. He couldn't help but smile just slightly at her determination.
"Then lets do this." He said to her. "No matter what we have to do, we'll find a way."
"Then lets do this." He said to her. "No matter what we have to do, we'll find a way."

London got out after her. Worried for her. What they had just been through was definitely scary. He pressed his lips together as he went into the changing room with her. Taking off the suit and hanging it back up in it's place. He was stepping out of the boots when he heard her. He nodded his head.
"Can do." He said softly.
"Can do." He said softly.

London set the books back in there place, before heading back into the facility. He took in a deep breath and headed for the kitchen. Well what they used for a kitchen. He pressed his lips together as he walked through the doorway and went over to the coffeepot. Though he didn't outwardly show it, those creatures had scared him a bit. Mostly though he was worried for Rebecca. He hoped she was dealing with it okay. He shook his head slightly as he started the coffee.

London got to coffee cups down, pouring the coffee in and making it how each of them liked it. He then headed back toward the lab. He stopped by the surveillance room first. Looking over the exterior camera's to make sure there weren't any other creatures out there. He looked at them for a moment, before he headed continued on and walked into the lab.
"Here you go." He said setting her cup down for her, before sitting down in one of the chairs near her.

He watched her work for a moment, thinking how good she was at just focusing when it came down to it. He took a sip from his cup. He took in a deep breath as he heard her comment.
"That bad huh?" He said with a sigh, though he had figured as much. The water was probably much more contaminated then the dirt was.

London sighed as he heard her say this. It was a valid fear. Outside was filled with everything that had changed those animals, and made every other human leave earth.
"We are safe inside." He assured her. "We have the air lock for a reason. "Plus the filtration system. "It filters out all the bad things that may have managed to make it's way in here. "And if we were ingesting it, then we would have seen signs by now."

London pressed his lips together. She was right about that, it would be a horrible death. But then again there was a slim chance that they wouldn't die from it, and just be turned into a mutant. He took a drink from his coffee. Setting the cup down when he heard her. If she could do that, then at least they would have one less thing to worry about. He nodded his head thoughtfully.
"How do we start?" He said.
"How do we start?" He said.
