146. What else do you typically purchase other than books at a bookstore?

message 506: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 50 comments If I am enjoying the book, I read the entire book. If it is a book that I really am not getting into, I hate to not know how it ends, so I will generally skim those.

message 507: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 50 comments Normally, I do not go to book stores. But when I do, I usually find many books I want to get, so yes, I have to "ban" myself from buying.

Rachel | 50 comments I am a sucker for bookmarks!

148. Do you carry a book bag? If so, what is in it besides books?

message 516: by Debra Diggs (new)

Debra Diggs | 2444 comments No. But if it is raining, I put the books in a plastic grocery bag to keep them dry (for library pick up and return).

149. What book did you love while reading but discovered later it wasn’t quality writing?

message 518: by Robin (new)

Robin Combs | 20 comments Krystyna wrote: "148. Do you carry a book bag? If so, what is in it besides books?"

Flashlight, umbrella, hand wipes, sanitizer, benadryl and other assorted over the counters, tissue, notebook and pen, saftey pins,
lip gloss. It's a big book bag.

Rachel | 50 comments Krystyna wrote: "147. Can you read while riding in a car?"

My purse is big enough to carry a book or two. I keep earbuds in there in case I'm listening to an audiobook. That's about it for bookish things in there.

150. Which author’s writing style is unique to you and why?

message 524: by Vivian (new)

Vivian Stevenson (passionatelyperusing) | 2032 comments Richard Flanagan definitely has a unique writing style. I've only read one book by him and it took awhile for me to get into it, but I enjoyed it for the most part.

157. If you see someone reading in public, what do you do? (Look to see what they're reading? Look the book up to see a synopsis/rating? Approach the person and start a conversation? Or do you just go on about your day?)

message 548: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Goins | 525 comments I usually look to see what they are reading. Also if I haven't heard of the book and the cover looks interesting I will look it up to see the book's synopsis/rating.

message 549: by Debra Diggs (new)

Debra Diggs | 2444 comments I would covertly try to look at the title. If it sounds interesting, I will look it up. I would never approach and start a conversation.

message 550: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 50 comments I would probably try to see the title. If it was an author I knew, I might try to engage in a conversation. I know how I am when I am interrupted while reading though...and I might not bother them.
