QOTD: What was the highlight of the month for you in June?

message 4057: by Vivian (new)

Vivian Stevenson (passionatelyperusing) | 2032 comments It was right at the end of the month, but I started learning how to crochet and it's been a lot of fun. Other than that, not too much happened in June.

The highlight of June for me was my vacation. We went to a place we've never been before. We enjoyed time at the beach and I got to meet an otter.

QOTD: Mid-year check-in: How's your reading going so far this year? If you have a goal, are you on track, ahead, or behind?

message 4067: by Vivian (new)

Vivian Stevenson (passionatelyperusing) | 2032 comments LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Mid-year check-in: How's your reading going so far this year? If you have a goal, are you on track, ahead, or behind?"

As far as quality of reading goes, it's actually really good! I'm 8 books behind to hit 100 books by the end of the year, but I'm not going to worry too much about it.

Jennifer Goins | 525 comments LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Mid-year check-in: How's your reading going so far this year? If you have a goal, are you on track, ahead, or behind?"

I have been in a reading slump this year. I decided to add some new genres to my reading palate. With that being said I'm still on track to achieve my goal of 40 books for the year.

message 4070: by Krystyna (new)

Krystyna (adoseofcozy) | 889 comments I'm very behind on my reading goal. I've been in a slump lately, but I think I'm finally getting out of it. I have my reading goal set to 100 for the year and I've only read 27 books so far. I'm 25 books behind to be on track with my goal. I'm not worried about it. If I hit it great, and if not, then I'll try again next year.

As far as the actual books I've read this year...it's been a decent reading year. It has ranged from DNF'ing a book to giving a book 5-stars and it becoming a favorite. I've been utilizing all reading formats and platforms from my kindle, to digital books audiobooks using my library card on libby and hoopla, to reading physical books I own and borrow. I've tried new authors, started series and other books I've been meaning to get around to reading for quite a while. So I would say overall, it's been pretty good. I'm glad to be over my reading slump so I can make more progress towards my reading goal though.

QOTD: What social media app/site do you spend the most time on?

message 4076: by Vivian (last edited Jul 11, 2024 09:06AM) (new)

Vivian Stevenson (passionatelyperusing) | 2032 comments LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What social media app/site do you spend the most time on?"

I'm on TikTok too much, but I don't really interact with anyone on there.

Edit: If we count YouTube as social media, then that is definitely my most used.

message 4077: by Krystyna (new)

Krystyna (adoseofcozy) | 889 comments I go through phases with social media. Sometimes I'm on social media too much and other times I don't open any of the apps for a while. Typically, I juggle between Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Lately, the social media app I've spent the most time on is TikTok.

I want to have a quiet, air conditioned weekend. Hopefully get some rest, maybe go for a short walk on a late evening when the heat breaks. That's about it.

QOTD: Have you discovered a new favorite genre, author, or book so far this year?

message 4097: by Krystyna (new)

Krystyna (adoseofcozy) | 889 comments So far this year, I've realized that I really enjoy fantasy and romance the most. I've been reading more dark romances. I read from authors I hadn't tried before. I finally started the ACOTAR series and I'm obsessed. I wish I had started it sooner.

Vivian Stevenson (passionatelyperusing) | 2032 comments LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Have you discovered a new favorite genre, author, or book so far this year?"

I've found that from reading books around the world, I really enjoy a small village setting. I've read a few books this year with it and I ended up rating them 4-5 stars.
