121. After you’ve bought new books that you can’t wait to read, how long do they sit on your shelf before you get to them?

.
1. Children of Ruin by Adrian Tchaikovsky (second book in series, the first one was excellent)
2. Dracula by Bram Stoker (reread)
3. The Wendy by Erin Michelle Sky (young adult, outside my normal reading range, but looks fun)

Come Closer by Sara Gran
I couldn't choose which one I hated more. I think Come Closer comes in 1st place, but Behind Her Eyes is a CLOSE second.

The Weight of Ink by Rachel Kadish
Lock Every Door by Riley Sager
I rave about quite a few but the top books that come to mind are:
Lock Every Door by Riley Sager
Kill Creek by Scott Thomas
In An Absent Dream by Seanan McGuire
Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb
Daisy Jones & the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden
The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng
The Weight of Ink by Rachel Kadish
This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger

Ex Libris: Confessions of a Common Reader - the author just has a way with words. The book makes you use your brain.
Dracula - all around good story
Night - such tragedy

My friend kept trying to get me to read those books, and I told her No Way!

It is an awful book. I cannot understand why anyone likes it, much less read the rest of them. And a movie was made! ....just keep saying No Way.

I think I get into one large reading slump a year. It will take about a month to really get out of it.
I might have little ones here and there but nothing quite as bad after that.

Probably IT by Stephen King, but I’m currently reading Les Misérables so it’ll be the longest when I’m done.

Yes I do. It happens to me a few times a year. Not because of books, but because of interruptions and stress.

All I can think of right now. (Not entirely sure what buzz words are.)"
Book buzzwords are basically descriptors (words or phrases) that when you see it in a blurb or synopsis you immediately want to pick the book up and read it. So, for me, an example would be gothic. If I see that a book has gothic in the description or a blurb then it immediately has my attention.

134. What books are you reading during your time of social distancing?
I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe.

I'm reading a funny book about a taxi driver going insane.
The Last Taxi Driver by Lee Durkee

I will pick up books from different genres to see if that does anything for me. If that doesn't work, then I'll take a break and get back into it when I'm in the mood.
135. What is your favorite quote from a book?
Feel free to add more than one if you can't narrow it down. Also, check out the book quote section, to enjoy the book quotes that have already been shared, and feel free to add some of your favorites too.
