Beach Read is definitely a perfect summer read, especially if you read it at the beach.

Probably a seaside setting

This may be cheating, but oh well. I wouldn't pack a particular book. I'd take my kindle. If I'm on a road trip usually the books stay at home and the kindle goes with me. (I also take my Kindle basically everywhere with me.)

Every Summer After by Carley Fortune

I like the combination of seaside and small town.

One of the Finlay Donovan books. They are light, fun, easy reads.

Hmm....I'm not sure. I feel like I probably read less though because there's nice, warm weather to get outside and do stuff. On the other hand, if it's miserably hot and I can't be in the water, you'll find me indoors...probably with a book.

I am usually busier in the summer months, so I would say probably less.

If i'm going somewhere with a lot of downtime like a beach house or whatever, probably a good cozy mystery or classic novel that I can sit and devote time to. If it's somewhere that I'll be out all day or doing things I probably won't bring a physical book but have some stuff downloaded from Libby or Hoopla

It's been a while since I've read this series and I can't honestly say its the ultimate for summer vibes lol but Peaches by Jodi Lynn Andersdon, mostly because it takes place in the summer in a peach orchard in Georgia, I believe, and it's about three different girls from different walks of life coming together and forming a tight friendship while working in the orchard.

I would take my kindle on a road trip.

I would say that I read less during the summer.

My perfect summer reading day would be warm, sunny day with a little breeze and ocean spray with my kindle, with an iced coffee, an ice water, and an icy dr. pepper zero because I always have multiple drinks, and it would be at the beach in my hammock.

In the country, on my front porch, in a beach chair. Drinking Dr. Pepper. I don't know which book, but it would be on my kindle. That way I would not have to mess with reading glasses.

Malibu Rising (in the regular edition)
or in this pretty edition: Malibu Rising.

You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty by Akwaeke Emezi

I feel like I'd have my kindle with multiple options and no wifi needed. But kindle aside, I'd have The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, The Hobbit, or There and Back Again, and Assassin's Apprentice. These are some of my favorite books and I need to reread them.

the indian lake trilogy by stephen graham jones because i'm always down to re-read those and i think reading them in this kind of setting would be perfect

- The Stand by Stephen King
- Bird Box by Josh Malerman
- Close Encounters of the Third Kind by Steven Spielberg
I chose these three because I think they will freak me out the most in that setting.

My most anticipated summer release was Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil.
QOTD: It's officially the 1st day of summer! What's your bookish beach bag lineup: book, snack, accessory, and playlist?

Bookish Beach Bag Contents:
book - probably my kindle
snack - probably cheez-its or pretzels
accessory - hair claw clip, sunscreen, beach towel
drink - ice water in my emotional support water bottle
playlist - probably a summer playlist I made

Bookish Beach Bag
book - The Wedding People, I have wanting to read this and it looks like a light, fun book.
snack - Pringles
accessory - sunglasses, hat
drink - Dr Pepper, even though water would a much better choice
playlist - hits from the 70s

I'm gonna have to go with water. I always have multiple drinks usually, but the one that is always the same is water. My usual trio are water, dr. pepper zero, and/or an iced coffee.

i've usually just got water with me but lemonade is my favorite summer drink

I'm gonna have to go with water. I always have multiple drinks usually, but the one that i..."
Dr Pepper

My go to reading drink is iced coffee always. But I do enjoy lemonade during the summer as well.

Water or iced coffee.
QOTD: Do you ever use the Little Free Libraries around your town, whether you’re dropping off books or browsing for your next read?

Yeah, I have donated books to them around my town and when I'm out of town. If there's a book I see that I'd like to read then I'll pick it up.

Yes, I have in the past. Now, I just discovered one near me and have a stack of books ready to go. I use them for both drop off and pick up. And sometimes I drop off old DVDs.

I have never used them.

I check them out if I see one, but there aren't any where I live that i've seen. And I never have anything to contribute to them so lol

i've never taken anything out of one but i put stuff in them sometimes

Oh my gosh, no! I want to know the ending right now.

no, i don't think i've ever done that.
