The second Lesson from Lucy is "Don't stop having fun. (And if you have stopped, start having fun again.).

The suggestion that we can improve our quality of life by having more fun may seem obvious, but it is easier said than done. As Barry suggests, we often delay happiness, claiming that we will have those fun experiences later when we're less busy, or have more money. We let worry erode our ability to have fun. Barry's suggestion that as adults we settle for contentment in place of fun really got me thinking: If this is the case, how do we retain or regain that childhood sense of wonder which Barry refers to when he speaks about his grandson? Barry attempts to answer this question by taking an inventory of the "truly fun experiences" he's had in the last few decades. Based on his recollections, he identifies that many of his genuinely fun experiences have been related to travelling. Barry explains that travel takes us out of our routines, and helps us gain perspective by reminding us that "the world is full of things that are not about you." Have you had any similar experiences with travelling? How else might we be encouraged to live in the moment?
