I am done. I have put the second one on hold at my library.

I love the aunts also, and definitely loooove their house. ;)

I have 2 small issues with the book that are totally personal. It is more "romance" that I care for, but not enough to stop me reading. I am afraid that the next one will be more romancy tough. I shall see. My other one is (view spoiler)[ the time travel, mostly them going back to when and where they were before. This is my limit of suspension of disbelief. (hide spoiler)]

I'm about 75% of the way through. It is much more a romance novel than I care for, and some aspects of the story (view spoiler)[ the Knights of Lazarus of Bethany (hide spoiler)] seem a bit "over the top" to me. Nevertheless, I continue to find the book a compelling read.

about your spoiler (view spoiler)[ The Knight, I totally agree. Not to the Knight per say but for the gray area in which they seem to move. Their purpose is not clear, more like it is the whim of their leader that decide of their action. But maybe it will bet cleared in the next book. (hide spoiler)]

Re the 2nd book: (view spoiler)[I do not want to spoil anything about the second book, because most of it I liked a lot, but I hope you will not be disappointed. I thought the time travel part was done ok. Dianna and Matthew - well, I won't go there. I really liked some of the new characters, but in my opinion, I think she tried to do too much, but you should read it and see for yourself. (hide spoiler)]

I am about 50 pages from the end. I continue to have mixed feelings about "Discovery." (view spoiler)[ I think the author tries to do too much. She keeps trying to top herself, making each conflict closer to fatal than the last and constantly coming up with new powers for Diana to discover she has. It has gotten to be a bit much for me. In my view, fantasy works best when there are clear rules for the magic and the protagonists have to play by rules and solve their problems within the rules. Once in a great while they can discover some ingenious work-around, but it shouldn't be a constant occurrence. In Discovery, I feel like new rules are being added all the time, and for the most part Diana seems to be some super-creature who is outside the rules that apply to everyone else. I'm enjoying the book, and I will keep reading, but I feel like the book has not lived up to the promise of its opening chapters. (hide spoiler)]

You know, Casceil, you have a good point. I did not annoyed me as much as i was more annoyed by Diana's (view spoiler)[ submissive behavior when Matthew was around. And also by the Knights order thing that still do not make sense to me. It may be that she was slowly establishing the rules.... I hope so. guess we will see.

RE 2nd book. (view spoiler)[yes, more romance, but the time travel was never an issue. There was no Mathew past and present over-lap. I was always afraid of that too. There is another side of this in the 3rd book that left me with questions that were never answered though. The plot just gets "more muddied". (hide spoiler)]
There are new characters introduced in the second book that I really liked.
