I was interested to learn that Dave Barry was part of a musical group made up of accomplished writers. Known as the "Rock Bottom Remainders," the group featured many well-known authors and writers, including the likes of Stephen King, Amy Tan, Ridley Pearson, Barbara Kingsolver, and Matt Groening. Barry speaks very fondly of his time playing with the group, and says, "it was never about the music," but rather, it was the comradery, the bonds they formed and fun they had, that kept them coming back to play together for nearly 20 years.
Check out this Vanity Fair article from 2012, which includes a link to the band's 2012 performance on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson: https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/...
What was your reaction to learning of this group? What did you think of their live performance? I really appreciated seeing that although the group is comprised of esteemed writers and authors, they are not afraid to be silly or look foolish.
