Ok so I would not normally do this, but I need to vent .Most of the people I personally know are either at work or are asleep, and I think I bugged my wife about this enough last night, So y'all are it...
So late last night I spoke to my dad and he tells me my Nana called and she said she and my Pappy are coming back from Florida and they need him to pick them up at the airport. My dad said she gave a flight number and an ETA, and engaged in small talk for a few minutes. She told him that,"Chad,(my actual name), was pondering moving back to Florida next year and also told him how the last time she was at this airport, someone stole her wallet out of her purse, and because of that she didn't want to wait there long.
Now here's the thing, my Nana passed away almost 30 years ago, and my pappy passed away 26 years ago and they did go back and forth between PA and Florida alot, but there's no way they could be doing that now. Also I have been pondering moving back to Florida but have only discussed that with my wife and kids, so there's no way my dad could've known. Lastly my Nana had her wallet stolen at this airport back in the early 80's. She set her purse on a barstool while waiting to board and while she was talking to my aunt and stepmom someone swipped it. The bar tender saw the person take it, reported it to airport police and it was returned within 20 minutes..As far as I know, my dad was never told about this.
So here's the million dollar question. Was this just a wrong number, where the caller just happned to know my name as well as my dad's? Whoever it was also knew I was thinking of moving in the near future, and like I said, it's not something I've discussed with a lot of people.Or was this actually my Nana? My dad said the line was clear, with no static and my step mom said said while she was sitting next my dad, she could hear someone talking. My brother thinks that this has happned once before a few months ago, but the conversation was different
That's quite a story, Chad. The question I want to know (as someone who not only writes horror stories, but was once involved in a paranormal research group), did you father realize it was his mother speaking? How did he respond? Did he say anything back?
And, you know, is dear old Dad maybe getting on in years...?
Yeah he's getting up there,( He's in his early 70s).....He's convinced it was her, but the more I think about it I think it was a wrong number.. According to my step mom, he didn't get to say much, it was," we need to be picked up, arriving at this time on this flight, we hope to see Chad's house before he moves, and we don't want to wait long because someone stole my wallet here once before"
