S. Cameron (sellecameron) | 4 comments There is a book I remember I used to read when I was a child. It was around 1993-1995 when I would read this book. The book was an audio book and I remember the lines, “cup cup fill up and the milk will flow”. There was a giant glass of milk that would fill up and there was a giant that would say, “cup stop!” but the cup would continue to fill up. I used to take it out of the library all the time and now I can’t even find it on Google. It’s almost like the book never existed but I can remember parts of it clearly. It was an audio book that came in plastic and of course it was a cassette since it was the early/mid 90’s.

Does anyone have any idea of the title or author’s name? Since it was in the 90’s there is a possibility the book was written in the 1980’s.

Cassandra | 43 comments I'm not familiar with the story you're describing, but the line about the cup sounds like something out of a fairy tale. If it was a fairy tale, then there's a good possibility that it was published as a collection of fairy tales rather than as a stand-alone story.

S. Cameron (sellecameron) | 4 comments I thought that was a possibility but I just asked my older sisters who are 10 and 13 years older than I am and they said it was a stand alone book with an audio tape. I’m so sad and frustrated that I can’t find it. This book stuck with me since I was about 3 years old.

Cassandra | 43 comments Did you ask your sisters if they can remember any other details?

Was the giant the main character or was there a human character? Was the giant male or female? Kind or cruel?

Did the story have a separate realm where lots of things were giant-sized similar to the giant's realm at the top of Jack's beanstalk?

Do you remember whether the book had any illustrations? If so, what can you tell us about them?

Margaretha Penner Could it be the "In the Night Kitchen" by Maurice Sendak?

S. Cameron (sellecameron) | 4 comments Cassandra,

It did have illustrations but the k my thing we can remember is the giant glass of milk. There was a human boy (I believe) and the giant was a male. The boy was the main character but the giant played a pretty big role, I think.

My sisters don’t really remember much else about the book besides that one line and the giant’s line.

S. Cameron (sellecameron) | 4 comments No, it wasn’t In The Night Kitchen. I was really hoping that was it! 😩🥺😔

S., please put some of those plot details into your header/title. We have thousands of members looking for old children's books and your thread needs to stand out at one glance.

Lozer (lozerette) | 1 comments Reminds me a lot of the plot of The Magic Porridge Pot, which has been included in *many* anthologies.
