Addison Carmichael | 48 comments Most people assume all PNR stories are sexually explicit. I would appreciate books/authors recommendations of any that aren't, that focus more on the storyline/relationship/character development.

Robin (rockin_robin) | 81 comments I don't recall any of Amanda Lee's series having explicit sex scenes. Also A A Albright and Danielle Garrett. Also the Rune Witch books Rune Witch Mysteries (Rune Witch Mysteries #1-2) by Victoria DeLuis Witchiest Circus on Earth (Magical Midway, #1) by Leanne Leeds was a neat series that I don't recall anything explicit it.

Awesome, thanks so much for recommendation!

Michi | 1 comments My latest reads have been:

The Guild Codex: Spellbound series by Annette Marie
Three Mages and a Margarita (The Guild Codex Spellbound, #1) by Annette Marie
The Beginner's Guide to Necromancy series by Hailey Edwards
How to Save an Undead Life (Beginner's Guide to Necromancy, #1) by Hailey Edwards
Blood Trails series by Jennifer Blackstream.
Deadline (Blood Trails, #1) by Jennifer Blackstream

I don't remember them having any sexually explicit scenes.

Thanks, Lynn! I've already read your books, and they're awesome. Very fast paced, lots of action.

Patricia (bibliomaniac3) | 1 comments Some of the books and series I would recommend do have strong language and/or graphic violence.

Of the books and series that don't (to the best of my recollection), I liked:

Haunted Guesthouse Mysteries by E.J. Copperman
Second Chance Cat Mysteries by Sofie Ryan
Witch City Mysteries by Carol Perry
Bad Luck Cat Mysteries by Kay Finch
Magical Bakery Mysteries by Bailey Cates
Magical Cats Mysteries by Sofie Kelly
de Piaget/MacLeod series by Lynn Kurland
Various books by Cindy Miles
Fates series by Kristine Grayson

Enjoy!

Thank you! I'm working on the last in that specific series now, but I am planning more in the same world.

Thanks, Patricia! I'll look into them.

Anne Schlea | 35 comments I write "closed door" books. (Meaning once we go too far along a path, the bedroom door closes.) I don't think graphic sexual content or overly described violence is necessary to tell the story. (But I completely understand how hard it is to find that.) Try mine:

Retribution

Contrition

The third book, Sovereign, is dropping later this month.

Written in Red (The Others, #1) by Anne Bishop Written in Red by Anne Bishop (The Others #1)

This suggestion is closer to urban fantasy rather than paranormal romance but it's a wonderful series and I've never come across anyone yet who said they didn't like it. I don't think it officially states anywhere that it's a "clean" read, but I still think it qualifies. There's a great deal of relationship building and plenty of affection, but there isn't a single sex scene in the entire series, so it may work for you. I'm constantly reading one paranormal series or another and I've yet to find anything that could even come close to knocking this one from it's spot in my top 5 favorites!

Sela (selacarsen) | 30 comments Try Kristen Painter's Nocturne Falls series. Jayne Frost is a spinoff cozy mystery series in the same world. She's also launched a new series called Shadowvale.

She also opened up the Nocturne Falls Universe to a few authors a couple of years ago, so there are over 30 stories by various writers (including me) in the NFU. All of them are sweet/clean PNR.

The Vampire's Mail Order Bride (Nocturne Falls, #1) by Kristen Painter Miss Frost Solves a Cold Case (Jayne Frost, #1) by Kristen Painter The Trouble With Witches (Shadowvale, #1) by Kristen Painter Magic's Song (A Nocturne Falls Universe story) by Sela Carsen

I love Nocturne Falls!

Robin (rockin_robin) | 81 comments I loved most of the Nocturne Falls books and there was a similar series, humor but enjoyable reading by Heather Horrocks called Moonchuckle Bay.

message 15: by Kat (new)

Kat (katwiththehat) Nocturne Falls is one of my favorite PNR series!
