Christie Thomas | 5 comments A friend's mother copied a book dedication that she would like to use in her obituary, but, unfortunately, it was lost. We have searched Google, Pinterest, and our bookshelves, but we have not had any luck. The dedication talks about winkled hands, crooked fingers and trying to be the person who kissed or touched my cheek when I was young. Any ideas?

Christie, can you tell us more about the book -- year she read the book, genre, theme, famous female/male author, etc.?

You can "bump" your thread every month or so. This pushes your thread back to the top of the folder instead of languishing here on page 88 where fewer eyes will see it. Get back in the game! Bump!
You can do this by typing a new comment at the end of the thread, or even by typing the word "bump."
Good luck!

Christine | 140 comments Just an idea:

If you google ‘find poems by lines’ there are some free websites that help locate the titles & some give the full verses.

Not sure if your missing dedication might be from a poem, but maybe it’s worth a shot?

It worked for me, when I was looking for something for my stepfather’s funeral, and couldn’t remember the exact lines.

Christine | 140 comments Also, the words you mentioned reminded me vaguely of the book, “When I Am an Old Woman, I Shall Wear Purple.” Edited by Sandra Martz. It contains a poem of the same name, as well as other poetry & prose. That’s probably not it, but I thought I’d mention it.
