On a floating junkyard beneath a radiation sky, a deadly secret lies buried in the scrap.

Eve isn’t looking for secrets—she’s too busy looking over her shoulder. The robot gladiator she’s just spent six months building has been reduced to a smoking wreck, and the only thing keeping her Grandpa from the grave was the fistful of credits she just lost to the bookies. To top it off, she’s discovered she can destroy electronics with the power of her mind, and the puritanical Brotherhood are building a coffin her size. But when Eve discovers the ruins of an android boy named Ezekiel in the scrap pile she calls home, her entire world comes crashing down. With her best friend Lemon Fresh and her robotic conscience, Cricket, in tow, she and Ezekiel will trek across deserts of irradiated glass, infiltrate towering megacities and scour the graveyard of humanity’s greatest folly to save the ones Eve loves, and learn the dark secrets of her past.

Even if those secrets were better off staying buried.

Part 2 (view spoiler)[ Damn so Eve has Ana Monrova's memories. That's sick. That kraken thing was a bit ominous, I feel like that won't be the last we see of it in this series. I like Zeke, but I don't feel like he can be 100% trusted. He might have told Eve some of the truth, but definitely not all of it. (hide spoiler)]

2.25 (view spoiler)[omg lemon found her bio family!! Well her grandfather at least. I’m so happy for her. This has been such a great book and I don’t want it to end. However there hasn’t been a ton of dramatic reveals really. It was so sad when Fitz sacrificed himself to save Diesel. (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[ Idk I'm feeling slightly underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong I still really enjoyed this. But idk why Zeke didn't see Preacher's betrayal coming. Like we all knew Preacher was an asshole. So I was not surprised. I'm glad Eve almost came to her senses at the end. And dammit I want to know why BioMass wants Lemon so much! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Oh boy was this a tough one to get into! After 2 chapters I almost gave up because nothing made any sense. We are thrown right in, which I liked, but having to figure things up when the characters use a made up language is not easy or fun. I felt so frustrated. Around chapter four or so more started to happen and maybe less jibberish or just the same words I’d heard enough or something and I could follow and start to get sucked in.
I still just wish they’d use normal words but it is what it is. I’m now intrigued enough by the story to muddle through that aspect.

But I am still clueless on any guess on what ‘Heat sink’ is...
Or why Lemon sometimes calls Eve ‘Riotgrrl’

I love Cricket, probably my favorite at this point. I also really like Kaiser and Lemon Fresh too though. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Well I feel like it was easy for the reader to see coming, but not for Eve (because why would you think you’re not who you believe you are?), but still it’s crazy Eve knows she’s Ana now. And that all that horrible stuff happened to her and her family. It blows me away that Faith was her close friend but then somehow ended up completely turning on her and being an active part of killing her family. And also is now trying again to kill her.

I’m glad she’s Eve now, Eve seems so much stronger and smarter than Ana seems in these memories. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[wow! Lemon is the Deviate!?!? I didn’t see that coming at all!
I was shocked that Ezekiel was the one who shot Ana but I did feel there was something bad he was keeping so not a total shock.
I really wish Ana/Eve would’ve chosen to be Eve. I just like that character and how strong she is so much more. I’m not super into the romance either it seems kinda forced.

DEVASTATED that Kaiser is dead :/

Side note—I love all the nicknames though: Braintrauma and Stumpy are both great. And I love Dimples and Freckles also. (hide spoiler)]

It killed me when Cricket was killed but I’m so glad he’s back, even if not the cute little robot he started as. I’ll take it so we can keep his sarcastic and funny comments! Cricket and Lemon are my favorites!
I’m devastated by Lemon and Cricket going and eve not going with them. It’s crazy that Ana is apparently not dead tho? Or at least not buried?!
It was so cool at the end when she finally decided to be Eve but with Gabriel?! This is gonna go badly I think. But I can’t wait for book 2!! (hide spoiler)]
