Chapter 12 opens with a profound statement – “…there are a great many things that cannot be understood until after you have gone a certain distance along the Christian road.” Never more truer words spoken!

On page 155, he makes a statement that I would your feedback on: “If you do not listen to theology, that will not mean that you have no ideas about God. It will mean that you will have wrong ones…” That statement written in 1952 is being lived out in America today. Since much of the church lives without ever studying the deep things of God and gaining theological knowledge, they easily fall prey to false teachers on the TV and Internet and even some churches in our area… Love to hear your thoughts…

I loved his discussion on the difference between making and begetting! And how he transitioned that discussion into the Trinity. Back before he lost his theological mind, Rob Bell produced a great video on theology and a section of it called Flatlanders unpacks this discussion Lewis is having on pages 160-163. I encourage you to check it out on You Tube (search for Rob Bell “Everything is Spiritual flatland stuff”).

Those are my thoughts this week – I look forward to reading yours…
