I need a YA novel with little to no romance.

MOIRA: ABDUCTION TO AKRASIA

It has a little romance towards the end, but it's not angsty.

This might lean more towards MG, but I really love this series.
NonPARA

Unwind is very dark though.

I agree about MAZE RUNNER, btw. Nicely done, sans romance.

Airborn, the first one, has a kinda Steampunk Treasure Island feel to it, and the other two are about pushing the boundaries of their technology, with adventure and intrigue for good measure. I really gotta find the time to reread these sometime in the near future . . .
Then there's his newer trilogy (of which there's only two so far) The Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein. It's a prequel trilogy for Frankenstein by Mary Shelly about how Victor became the kinda person who would try to assemble corpses and bring them to life. The first one is good but the second is one of my personal favourites from him:

Twin 'Veilwalkers' Lyric & Lincoln Yama have been hunted their whole lives, prized for their ability to cross the veil between the living & the dead. Their power makes them sought after by every magical faction that exists. Their father is the only thing that protects them from being ripped to pieces in the crossfire.
That's the way it works, everyone wants to use them, make them slaves or worse. Their mother was murdered for her powers...or was she? Is something even more sinister hiding in their past, or even in their own family?

There is romance, but its not the focal point. There is fantastic world-building, tons of action & suspense and amazing plot twists.
Fair warning, there is a smattering of editing issues, in the first book particularly, but keep going and you will get sucked in. I stayed up all night reading Book 2. I couldn't put it down! Lyric is probably one of my fave heroines of all time.

I also wanted to recommend the Chloe and Levesque mystery series by Norah McClintock (if you want good YA Teen Sleuth) I haven't really found much else I like by her so far, but that's one series I go back to a lot. There tends to be a relationship going on somewhere in the book, but half the time it's not even the main character's and it plays a part in the mystery. There's a prequel to the rest of the series (Goodreads lists it as the first in the series) and it's written differently than the others and doesn't have the same feel to the others. Personally, I don't like it that much. I always start with this one:

There's 5 more that follow it.

Sabriel Sabriel and the whole Abhorsen series. Set in a magical realm, she's trying to find her father, who makes sure the dead get to where they are going.
Sorry both are death related books.
