How This Works

◆ You may nominate five books per category.

◆ We will allow omnibuses and book collections.

◆ Genre doesn't matter so much, as long as it isn't something obvious like sci-fi/fantasy in the Nonfiction thread.

◆ A book may be nominated on more than one list.

◆ Once nominations are over, polls will be set up so that members may vote for their favorites and the 100 best books will be chosen

◆ Once the 100 best of each genre are chosen, we will set up challenges based on the lists.

Rules
◆ An author may not nominate their own book or get a friend to do it for them.

If you have any questions, just ask!

Kristie | 3595 comments Should we try not to nominate something that has already been nominated in the same category?

Also, can YA books go in other categories, such as romance or fantasy, or should they all stay in the YA category.

Thanks!

Amanda (daughterofoak) | 3473 comments You can nominate books in any category that they apply. So a YA book can go in either romance or fantasy...or even all three.

A nominated book will only go on each genre's poll once, so try to avoid books that have been listed in that category already. I don't want anyone to use up a nomination if they don't have to :).

Kristie | 3595 comments Excellent! Thank you!

Kristie | 3595 comments Not a question, but I just have to comment that I'm really looking forward to whatever the challenges will be. There are SO many books on these lists already that I really want to read!

Laura | 9707 comments I agree Kristie!

Barb So you're lumping mystery/thriller and historical fiction in with general fiction? I see romance, sci-fi/fantasy, YA, non-fiction and general fiction, but no mystery/thriller or historical fiction :(

message 8: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (daughterofoak) | 3473 comments Yes, they're lumped in with the general fiction at the moment. We were afraid they wouldn't get enough nominations on their own.

message 9: by Barb (new)

Barb Wow :( I could probably nominate 50 mystery/thrillers by myself, but don't have a clue as to YA, romance or sci-fi fantasy.

I can set up a mystery/thriller nomination thread and we'll see how it goes. If we don't have at least 100 nominations by the time voting rolls around, then I'll just absorb them into the general fiction poll.

Barb I've nominated my top 5 mystery/thrillers in the general fiction thread. Do you want me to repost them?

message 12: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (daughterofoak) | 3473 comments I haven't been through there yet, so you can change your nominations, if you'd like.

message 13: by Barb (new)

Barb Thanks, Amanda, much appreciated.
