Discuss Chapter 15 - Chapter 18

NOTE: While this section is meant to focus on the specified chapters of this book, this read is meant for people who have already read the entire series.

Ch. 15
-Hermione slapping Malfoy = SO AWESOME. Then she leaves Divination. Yeah, Hermione!

-What a Quiddich match!

Ch. 16
-I love the results from turning a teapot into a tortoise. Spout tail, breathing steam, and a willow-patterned shell. Rowling adds depth to this world with the smallest things.

-Trelawney's prediction is rather chilling. As Dumbledore says later, that brings her total of genuine prophecies up to 2.

-McNair is a Death Eater.

-I imagine Scabbers/Peter hid at Hagrid's so he could listen for news of if/when Sirius was captured.

-I love reading this part of the book knowing what's going on with the Time Turner and how it all fits together.

Ch. 17
-Rowling can write one hell of an action scene.

-Harry insists that he's going to kill Sirius but he doesn't exactly know how to do that...

-Hermione is usually tolerant, compassionate, and understanding so it's a shocking to see her dismiss Lupin so quickly and using the fact that he's a werewolf against him.

-I love how things come together so well here. Lupin's reveal, the truth behind Scabbers... it's delicious.

Ch. 18
-Hermione puts a lot of effort into her homework.

-More threads coming together. Sirius is (understandable) impatient. I can't imagine stewing in Azkaban for 12 years for a crime I didn't commit.

Anyone else screaming at the kids for not listening to Black?

I wonder how I felt the first time, when I didn't know the truth.

I think this is the book that sold me on Hermione. She's so awesome when she breaks bad.

Who is McNair?

Hermione really comes into her own in this book.

McNair is a Death Eater. I think he's in the circle of Death Eaters when Voldemort is resurrected at the end of Goblet of Fire.

Oh. McNair is the executioner in part 5. I hadn't gotten there yet.

Hermione the bad ass is so great. I always liked her, from the beginning, but yeah this was her coming out party.
