Review Group discussion

Welcome to the Review Group, where we hope you will participate in the groups doing non-reciprocal reviews, but that's not essential. Everyone is free to just join in the discussions. We are human and alive so we all have a story to tell. Many people from many different backgrounds makes for a wide variety of views, engendered from our different experiences. There we have the essential ingredients for some lively debates.

The group was formed in 2012, by a group of authors wanting to help their fellow authors obtain reviews in the sea of self-published and indie authors on Goodreads and Amazon.
Some of the mods have changed gradually over time, but the principles remain the same.

If you want to join a review round, watch out for a new group forming and add your GR book link and author link. Whether you do or don't want to review, there's an 'introduce yourself' thread so we can say hi. I hope you enjoy your time with us.



Rules and guidelines of the Review Group

We’re keeping this as simple as possible. There are only two rules really:
NO RECIPROCAL REVIEWS
HONESTY IN REVIEWS
The rest is designed to make those 2 principles work as smoothly as possible. The initial aim is for authors to support each other with reviews, but avoid, as far as possible, suspicion of cronyism. Hence the ban on reciprocity.

Debating is stimulating and opens the mind to new ideas but we will not allow insults or personal attacks, either in reviews or on group threads.

Finally, it’s not a rule but a hope that we can all have some fun together :)
