Is it me or does it seem that end time fiction are few and far between?

I agree, at least Christian type. I love End Times stuff, mainly because I believe we may be living close to that time in history. If you haven't read any of Joel C. Rosenberg, you might try his books.

I've read one or two of Mr. Rosenberg's books, but they just don't grab me.

I wish I had the talent of writing. I would be churning them out. If non-christians can churn out their junk, how is it Christains can't do the same?

So true. I am working on a book now whichtakes place in WWII and is sort of tied in with my book whichis just published. if I live long enough, I though about possible making it a trilogy with the 3rd book during end times. Oh, well, it depends on what the Lord has in store for me.

Definitely few and far between. I can't understand it myself. Looking at the Christian Fiction section of Walmart and my two local bookstores, I find the selection seems to be loaded with, and almost limited to, the same type of Stepford wife wannabe with a secret from her past meets Mr. Perfect Stepford and they overcome some obstacle to get together and have Stepford babies. When a formula sell, I guess that's what authors write and publishers print, to go for the safely guaranteed buck. I think Anne is right--if you want to read something different, you have to write it yourself.

Oh, I disagree. I have found Christian thrillers, Christian mysteries and many Christian books. I also love historical and biblical history books. I have gone to a Christian book website(won't mention which one) and check out books that interest me. Then I go to the library and even in our medium sized liberal college town, they have a surprisingly large selection of Christian books. My new book has some suspense, is historical and a romance.

Lola, I have to agree with you. That's mostly what I tend to see at my Borders as well. And frankly I have no interest in them.

I have done the Amazon buying, but you have to be very careful here with your choices. Some reviews are rave reivews and you then by the book and go - "huh?" You have to be kidding me..."

Yeah, that's the nice thing about Goodreads reviews--you can click onto the reviewer's profile page and see how their taste tends to run, especially if they review other books that you've read and hate/love. If I went by the 5-star ratings, I'd end up with nothing but Kingsbury krap and other Holy Harlequin books--and weeping with agony in my beer. Wonder when Wendy Alec's next book is coming out--at the rate she's going I am going to have to finish that series from the other side of the pearlie gates.

Check out Nephilim, the first book of a trilogy. Though not specifically end times fiction, this trilogy does focus on where evil is headed, and are great reads. I really wish the author would put out something new as I enjoyed all 3 of these very much.

Yes, except not in German-LOL. If you key in Michael D. O'Brien here on GR, when you pull up his book page, the ones I read are the first four. I don't remember the order, so hopefully the explanation will give you more about them and the correct order. It has been years, and i came across his name and books on B&N the other day and remembered them.

I al would like to recommend by Glenn Beck. Great book, a fictional tale abotu what could happen if the UN's Agenda 21(already in the works) is put into effect. Highly Recommended and clean.

As for Christian end times novels being few and far between, it's not always up to the authors. In traditional publishing, publishers are the ultimate decision-makers as to what gets published and what doesn't. As an author, having worked with them for three decades, I can tell you from first hand experience how frustrating it is at times to see a need for a particular type of book and not being able to convince a publisher to fill it. With the increase of indie publishing that is changing, but many times the quality suffers. Hopefully, that will improve over time.

Hello, I'm new here and I have to say...Praise God for indie publishing!
I am a new author (two out this year), and two more in the works. One of the two I have out now, The Father's Footsteps plays on the edge of slightly futuristic, with conspiracy theory undertones.

The seventh and final novel in the Christian fiction series, The End Times Saga.

Times of Tribulation follows the entire seven year period as various characters survive the seven trumpet and seven bowl judgments.

In the North American region, which is one of ten administrative regions set up by the Patriarch, the former mayor of Dallas becomes the second to rule over the region after the first one disappoints the world leader. The Administrator hunts down new believers in Christ, makes the people in his region fear him, and deals with each disaster that affects his rule.
