Danielle I’m about to start reading and I’m excited! It’s not exactly my favourite time period, I prefer more contemporary settings but the blurb describing the plot sounds super interesting!!

Danielle So I’m about halfway through and I’m not falling in love with this book. I’m finding both the characters and the plot are stereotypical. I’m still waiting for that big ‘moment’ in the book. Anyone else feel the same?

Christina (batgirl39) | 20 comments I read it about a month ago and felt the same way! I was expecting a lot more to happen and it ended up being just a 3 star rating for me.

Vanessa (viloccorb) I’m about 3/4 through it and I’m actually really enjoying it! I love historical fiction, so I think that’s partly why. I agree that there haven’t been any real big moments, but it’s been an interesting read for me so far. The characters have kept my attention and I find myself wanting to read it quickly to find out what happens next. Probably going to be a 4 star read for me.

Danielle Just finished! I saw this ending coming from a mile away. There was no interesting plot points for me.

Kim Kaso | 94 comments I took a Shakespeare honors seminar in college, we read a two plays a week, my semester focused on the comedies. We had to write a paper for each play, so 2 of those a week. I had developed a love for the plays and sonnets by 9th grade, and would take walks with my dog and recite speeches. I acted in plays in HS & college, so learned large swathes of dialogue, studied for a semester in England and France & saw plays done by the Royal Shakespeare Company. My family ended up living in England for some time, and we took our kids all over. They all fell in love with Shakespeare as well. So this book delighted me, and I read it fast. I recently watched The Gunpowder Plot which was the follow-on plot to this one, so I was familiar with many of the historical characters. It was a fun read for me.
