Book 1 (view spoiler)[ It makes sense that Mia would have a parent she inherited her darkin from. So messed up that Scaeva knew Mia was his daughter and still ordered her to be killed. A snake companion fits him. I feel bad for Tric, he comes back from the dead and Mia is sleeping with the girl who killed him.
Also, the books are written by Mercurio about Mia! That's crazy and sort of confusing haha (hide spoiler)]
Book 2 (view spoiler)[ Awh, Bryn was just getting her moment with Waker! I liked them, that's too bad. Watching Mia fight and have more abilities now that Truedark is coming is awesome (hide spoiler)]
Book 3 (view spoiler)[ Wow that storm was intense. I'm not surprised the crew turned on Mia. The way she moved across the sea was pretty cool.
I miss Mr. Kindly, I hope he comes back! We're getting closer to the end now! (hide spoiler)]

Book 4 (view spoiler)[ I'm sad for Mia that Ash died, I know she really loved her. And now Mia is going off on her own for a suicide mission, I hope she can at least let the Moon and Sky free and get back at the Sun. (hide spoiler)]
Finished (view spoiler)[ Awh, Mia gets to be with Ash! I wonder if they can see their friends though, living or dead. Or if they're just in their own space and that's it? Book 1 (view spoiler)[ Holy shit! So many answers in less than 100 pages. I think I'm in shock with everything we learned about Tric, Darkin and Mercurio. ALSO MERCURIO IS THE FUCKIN NARRATOR I AM SO PUMPED. That means he makes it right?? God I hope so. I am loving this so much but I'm also dead inside. Jonnen is such a little shit. And holy fuck of course Scaeva is a damned Darkin too. His conversation with Mia was so intriguing I can't wait to see what will happen. (hide spoiler)]

Book 1 -(view spoiler)[ This has been perfection so far! I’m loving it! Mercurio as the narrator makes sense, (since the narrator said at the beginning he loved her...) and I loved the part where they were making fun of the title “Nevernight” and the footnotes. “What kind of wanker writes a novel with footnotes?” Hahahah!! I just love this writing and the pacing is perfect! Can’t wait to find out more! (hide spoiler)]

Book 2- (view spoiler)[ I just love Tric! I feel so bad for him! But the banter between him and Ash about pushing buttons and stabbing people was hilarious! That last scene was intense! Bryn and Walker were just making their moves! I’m glad Jonnen is giving Mia a chance, but I’m not 100% sure it’s real... I mean revenge and vengeance runs pretty deep in that family for killing fathers, so maybe it’s an act?? (hide spoiler)]

Book Four - (view spoiler)[ I'm glad Ashlyn is dead. Although, I will admit that I thought we might get a threesome out of this book before the series ended.

I'm also beginning to realize that someone is going to have to kill Mia's brother to reunite his piece of soul with the others.

Now on to random thoughts: I'm so glad Mr. Kindly redeemed himself in Mia's eyes. I seriously cried a little when she chased him away and then the author kept referring to the cat-shaped hole in her heart and it got me teary every time. Oh, and when Eclipse died - oh the tears. I can't believe Jonnen just betrayed her like that. I don't care if it was to follow his father, that was just wrong. I kept hoping that when that nasty snake got its due, somehow Mia would be able to separate their shadows again.

Mia's happy ending - Meh. I didn't like Ashlyn. I really wanted her to end up with Tric. Maybe that whole argument that the Blood guy made about how his power came with a price and how that price made it more valuable. I felt like Tric paid a hefty price for loving Mia and therefore his love should have meant more. I'm not sure Ashlyn really paid anything. Yeah, her brother died, but that was more a price for their failed attempt to bring down the church. She wasn't even in love with Mia back then. And what the heck was up with Tric just committing suicide there at the end. Like really? He either didn't have any faith that Mia would survive or he just didn't want to put in the effort to try to win her over afterward. Yet, he is still my choice. I'm messed up, I guess.
