Nik Krasno | 19852 comments I found it kinda hilarious, although it does touch some serious issues:

What's your attitude? Would you "tolerate" or "retaliate" in neighbors' shoes?

J.J. Mainor | 2440 comments Not for nothing, but that's an ugly house...I think the "paint job" actually makes it look not-so-ugly.

There was a similar incident in Rhode Island back in the 90s (I think it was). A developer bought a piece of land in an exclusive neighborhood. When he applied for the building permits, he was told the land had been illegally divided and was too small to build on under the existing regulations. So he went in and cut down every tree on the lot, leaving high stumps which he painted all kinds of garish colors. Not only were the neighbors unhappy with the new eyesore, but their once-quiet neighborhood was inundated with outside traffic coming in to see the painted tree stumps...and there were no regulations that said he couldn't do that to the lot...

What are the neighbors being so pretentious about? This neighborhood is full of ugly houses; it's not an architectural treasure to be preserved.

Marie | 643 comments People always have some kind of complaint about what their neighbors are doing. I think it is kind of cool the house being painted like that! Obviously, the neighbors have no sense of humor and it seems to me they just want to stick their noses in where they don't belong!

I do know some neighborhoods have rules about the craziest things over here in the U.S. which also includes what kind of flags you can fly in your yard! Everyone wants to complain about something and they all think that their rights are being violated. Leave the poor woman alone and let her keep the emoji paint on the house! lol It looks way better than some other houses I have seen in different areas! :)

Yep, same same.

Nik Krasno | 19852 comments Glad you liked it. Not sure, I'm crazy about the colo(u)r, but the smiley's idea is nice and with a message too

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 8073 comments Those aren't smiley faces, and the intent is to insult other homeowners and cause upset in the neighborhood. If the homeowner's intent is malicious, then the neighbors have a valid complaint. If there are also traffic problems, that clinches it.
