Is it just any book we didn't pay for? I have a couple of books a guy in the library gave me to keep bc they had loads of copies of them...Do they count bc I didn't pay for them?
I'm in too! I downloaded lots of freebies recently, and even got a lot of review copies. So, I'm game.

Yep, you can have books that have been loaned to you, or given to you, books that you've won, books that are free to read online, etc. Just as long as you didn't pay for it ☺

This will be a reading challenge which runs from October 1st to October 31st 2014 Inclusively. Results will be announced on November 1st.
The goal of this challenge is to read books that you haven't paid for...
er, not like that!
Books can be from a library, a free download from amazon/smashwords/B&N etc., a review copy from an author/publisher/netgalley/edelweiss etc., a book that you have won, or even a loan or a gift from a friend ☺
As long as your book didn't cost you anything, it counts! (We will take your word for it)
Scoring-
*1 point for each book read and reviewed
*1 bonus point if you buddy-read your book
*5 bonus points for every 1000 pages read.
Rules:
* Books must be read between October 1st and October 31st inclusively (Books started before October 1st will not count - please make sure that your 'date started' on your review is within these dates)
* You can only use a book once.
* Books must have 100 pages or more to count.
* Manga, picture books, books with more pictures than words do not count. You may read non-fiction for this challenge, but if your book has mainly pictures, you will not be able to use it (eg: a cookery book which is mainly pictures would not count)
* 1 reread allowed
* Your book must be a freebie to count (or if buddy reading and your buddy has a free copy - that also counts)
* Buddy reads must take place in our group to count.
