I did not finish any books this week! I'm kind of upset, but then I remember it was the first week back at school and I had a lot of other stuff to do. So hopefully I can get back into the swing of things quickly so my book reading doesn't suffer! Good thing I have weekends.

I read:
Moon Called by Patricia Briggs.
An urban fantasy series about a Shifter mechanic named Mercy Thompson and her dealings with werewolves, vampires, and witches. It's a fast read and has its edgy, darker moments balanced with its lighter, (sarcasticly) humorous moments.
Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel.
I really enjoyed this book! It's told in a series of interviews and conversations conducted by a mysterious figure, each discussion has to do with the investigation and recovery of giant robotic parts found buried in the earth.
It was hard for me to keep up with the timeline, but the sudden shift from one interview to another made for dramatic and exciting twists to the story. At one point I had to put the book down and text someone because I couldn't believe what had just happened.
The figure of the interviewer also frustrates me but in an intriguing way. I can't figure out his motivations, you are given almost no information about him, and I have no idea if he is 'good' or 'bad'. I want to know more!
Will definitely be continuing this series.
Small Kingdoms by Charlaine Harris
This is a collection of short story about Harris' character Anne DeWitt (or Twyla Burnside) a former government operative/extreme survivalist instructor now turned high school principal. She's an interesting character who maintains ultimate control of her school's great reputation through unconvential methods. Quick read and I recommend it for anyone who enjoys Harris' other stories.

I've adopted your practice of taking weekend mornings as my reading time. It's the only way I can actually set aside time to read and I'm loving it. :)
I did not finish any books during this week- but I did find out that I have to read at least two books a week now for the rest of the year in order to finish my goal...so that's not at all stressful *insert upside down smiley face emoji here* WISH ME LUCK GUYS!
