Playbill reports "The Last Unicorn" is being prepped as Broadway Musical

Josh Duhamel is former soap opera actor and co-star of the Transformers movies, and I have no idea what a "Fergie" is, though I'm pretty sure she's not Duchess. So clearly this is in good hands.

Just so Mia Farrow doesn't do any of the singing.

I would have thought the Lion King would be a tough Musical to stage, but by all accounts it's worked out very well (haven't seen it.) I figure if Broadway is ready for Lions & Meerkats, they can handle a unicorn & a butterfly (especially if the unicorn is a human most of the time.)

OTOH, none of the attached names I see in that article have done Broadway stage productions, so it may be a disaster or just a a publicist getting way ahead of reality. Stephen Schwartz was loosely associated with the concept at one point, but no longer.

K.F. Silver (kfsilver) | 33 comments Should be...interesting. I enjoyed the animated movie, at least - but a movie is a heck of a lot different than a musical.

Brenda Clough (brendaclough) | 337 comments Frankly, everything depends upon the script and the music/lyrics. If they don't have good people doing this, it will be a train wreck.
