I would have thought the Lion King would be a tough Musical to stage, but by all accounts it's worked out very well (haven't seen it.) I figure if Broadway is ready for Lions & Meerkats, they can handle a unicorn & a butterfly (especially if the unicorn is a human most of the time.)
OTOH, none of the attached names I see in that article have done Broadway stage productions, so it may be a disaster or just a a publicist getting way ahead of reality. Stephen Schwartz was loosely associated with the concept at one point, but no longer.

Josh Duhamel is former soap opera actor and co-star of the Transformers movies, and I have no idea what a "Fergie" is, though I'm pretty sure she's not Duchess. So clearly this is in good hands.
Just so Mia Farrow doesn't do any of the singing.
