Also, it's so great that we have non-native English speakers here. I, tragically, only speak English so I'm always impressed with those who not only speak more than one language, but can understand it well enough to read novels and write about them in that language.

My name is mayra , I am 22 and live in California. I love reading and hope to one day publish a book(s). I like to blog and tend to cyber stalk bloggers :/...Jk...please feel free to suggest books or blogs:)

I am a part of a few other groups on here and I wanted to join this one for future discussions and whatever else I find. I didn't want to join a group with a lot of members, but this is one of the best ones I have seen so I'll see how it goes! (:

I'm =
Retired.
Married.
No children.
Two cats.
My debut YA Paranormal/Time Travel/First Kiss romance novel entitled "I Kissed a Ghost" is a sweet story which will also appeal to preteens. Don't take my word for it, read the review my book got from Micki Peluso on Amazon.com

Most of my time is spend reading, talking about books, or blogging about books. I am also an aspiring writer. I have plenty of ideas, but I am having trouble putting them into words. The free time that I don't use reading, I use playing tennis and learning Spanish.
I am really excited for this group, and I can't wait to starting posting.
You will be hearing more from me!

Rodney O.

P.S- I should be looking for a job! :)

As far as reading goes, my favorite series is Holly Black's Curse Workers and Cassie Clare's City of.... books. I also like Divergent by Veronica Roth. Contemporary authors I love include Jennifer Echols and Sarah Dessen.

Cool! I've posted a tiny bit in one of the Unearthly threads so I need to go back and write a bit more -- I enjoyed it, which I wasn't expecting!

Feel free to add me as a friend or recommend a book, I crave bookish contact. Being surrounded by friends, colleagues, family members, who's reading list only reflect the magazine section at Morrison's!
Anyway get in touch, I'd love to talk to you.

I'm Ninja Girl, and I heard this group was going to be reading "Eleanor & Park"--which I just recently discovered and cannot wait to read! I love to write, read, dance, and watch movies. This group seems awesome. Can't wait to be introduced to and discuss some great YA :)

I love YA for two reasons: 1) It's the fertile soil for truly important stories (think, "Feed," "Huck Finn," "Kidnapped," etc.) that usually speak from one core question: In a complex, corrupt and dangerous world, how does a young person navigate him or herself into adulthood with any sense of dignity? (I'm pushing 50 and still trying to figure this one out); 2) YA readers are so damned smart. Young people, by definition, don't have a great deal of experience, but they do come equipped with excellent BS detectors. Their passion, curiosity and intense distaste for BS make them (us) ideal readers.
I look forward to (virtually) meeting you.
