Has anyone thought about a PDX meetup? Wouldn't Powell's be the perfect place? My schedule is clearing up so it would be easier for me to attend.

I can't attend because I live in California, but I have been to Portland and Powell's and excellent call, sir. Perfect place for a meet up.

I work in Portland and commute during the week. Powell's would work there maybe other venues as well... A local brew pub maybe.

This needs to happen. Powell's would be perfect.

I'm in Portland! Not sure where in or which Powell's would work- they tend to be crowded. There's a great coffee place on the east side called Bipartisan. I'm not into brewpubs (I know! I know! I live in PDX and don't drink beer! But I love rain!) Someplace that serves soda would suffice.

I'm open as far as locations. Does anyone have a preferred time or date?

Assuming a time is picked that I can make, I'd be in. If Powell's is picked, it would be good to check in with them first and make sure it's at a time that wouldn't cause issues. It might be worth having two events - one east side, one west side.

What time is good for you? I can make west side meetings too; doesn't make a difference.

I'm free most evenings, but we should probably do this soon. I'll be jumping into NanNoWriMo in November and I doubt I'm the only one.

Looks like the 11th is the most popular date so far, and I should be able to make it.

I think it might be a good idea to at least have one meet up before deciding whether we need to split into rival book gangs.

I'm thinking 7:30. The Powell's on Cedar Hills has a book signing that night, so it would probably have to be the main one. I'll call to make sure it's okay.

They said the coffee shop at the main store would probably be the best place. I don't remember how much room they have there.

Cedar Hills has seating areas and a mall next door

The main store has a sizable coffee shop area, if I remember correctly, and it might be closer for a larger portion of the group.

Aargh! I'll actually be in Portland on the 11th, but I was planning on taking the bus back to Eugene that afternoon.

It's a long shot, but anyone from Eugene/Springfield going to the meetup who'd be willing to give me a ride back to Eugene afterwards? It'll be me + luggage, and I'll happily pay for gas.

There were just 2 people, but it was fun. We should try to do this again sometime.

Actually, there might have been more that couldn't find us. We'll have to pick a less busy location next time. And maybe have a sign.

I didn't see the final scheduling! Dang! I'll try to be more observant in the future.

Sweet. Powell's might not be the best place. The cafe is sizable, but was packed to the gills last time. We might want a venue that's a bit more calm.
