Esdaile | 1 comments I know good reads is about reading but I was nevertheles surprised that putting the word "recital" did not throw up one hit in this group. Some recitals have been put under readings, but anyway..I would like to see more recitals and poets reciting their poetry. I had quite a successful recital of my own poems in London recently (but a very small gathering) and thought that I thought of all the right places to advertise it but I had not thought of Goodreads! My proposal is this: what about having an events board where members could post their forthcoming recitals? What do members think? By the way, many of my poems can be read on my poetry blog:

Perhaps in England you call them recitals while we call them readings unless they're spoken word style. I go to them frequently.
I'll check out your blog. Please check mine: http://alariepoet.com/

I don't think any others on this page are at all close to me in Kansas City, Missouri.

I do a lot of readings in the UK too (and publicise them on my website like this: http://www.jswatts.co.uk/p/readings-a... ) but I think Alarie may have hit the nail on the head when she points out the geographical breadth of this group. The fact that I'm doing a reading in Cambridge, England this September is probably not going to be of interest to poets in the States, however supportive they are from a distance.
