What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

A book about a couple who buy an old house, I believe its Provence, and get it fixed up but the workers. The workers stop working so the couple decide to through a house warming party and invited the workers and their wives to a party. The wives find out their husbands have not finished the work on the house and push them to finish their job to save face. I listen to it on books on tape about 15 years ago.
