Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Got those in my notebook, Hannah. Will update a card three tracker once we're ready for that card, to keep things simple here.

(And I've got the third book for the Three of a Kind, 1800s Literature.)

message 357: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Harris (authorabigailkay) | 174 comments I read Hills of Nevermore (Montana Gold #1) by Janalyn Voigt this weekend instead of Witemeyer's so can that take the place of FSA? Or is there another spot it can take and I'll still read FSA?

message 358: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Yes, I can swap those out. If you're close on Witemeyer, we do have another CF spot open on the Four of a Kind.

message 359: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Abi, go ahead and still read FSA for Three of a Kind. I'll put Nevermore in the Four of a Kind spot.

Great, thanks! (I don't do Goodreads messaging, so I won't reply over there.) Thanks!

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Good to know! :)

message 362: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments In case you didn't see my message over there, here's the gist:

Keep reading and sharing books. Even if the current card looks filled, I'll either find a spot of mine to shift to the next card and put yours in the current one OR slide your books into a spot on the next card. Either way, the books you read will help us out. I've already got notes in a notebook going for our next round, so some spots are already taken. I'll do an update in a spoiler in my tracker thread with who has which slots here in a few minutes.

message 363: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Wonderful job, Monique! I’ll get the tracker updated tomorrow when I’m back on my computer.

message 364: by Monique the Book Geek (last edited Sep 10, 2019 08:39AM) (new)

Monique the Book Geek (moniquethebookgeek) Thank you, Andrea. It look me longer than I'd hoped to finish "The Killing Tide," however I really enjoyed it.

I'd like to put the Yahtzee #2 task (read a book that a teammate or mod rated 5 stars) up for grabs, to whoever can fill it first, which may or may not be me. ;)

I am starting on "Astray", which could fit my Four of a Kind task. This is a Christian fiction book unlike any Christian fiction book I've read before, and I'm excited to read it.

My TBR has not been going as planned, and so rarely does, so I love the flexibility in this challenge. :)

message 365: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I hear ya, Monique. Mine has switched up a couple of times as well. Thanks for posting the reviews for Maria. We're looking great this round!

Maria, well done on finishing two large books!

I'm updating the tracker now.

message 366: by Monique the Book Geek (last edited Sep 12, 2019 06:31AM) (new)

Monique the Book Geek (moniquethebookgeek) From what I can tell, we only have 10 uncompleted tasks left for Round 2, and of these remaining tasks...

1 is mine (Four of a Kind #1)...

1 is Abigail's (Three of a Kind #2)...

2 are Andrea's (Four of a Kind #3 & Chance)...

5 are Hannah's (Four of a Kind #2, Large Straight #1, and Yahtzee #s 3, 4, & 5)...

and 1 (Yahtzee #2) is open to whoever can complete a book for it first, preferably after they've finished their other Round 2 tasks.

It's only been 8 days since we started Round 2. This round is going by so fast! :)

message 367: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I’m working on both of my remaining tasks now. The suspense should fly fast, and I’m already into the second of three stories in the Greece book.

message 368: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Mine’s done, except for large straight. No time to post today! Actually, I could take Yahtzee #2 with a shorter book I read this week, if it’s still open when I finish the large straight. That book’s at 25%.

message 369: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Wow! A deluge of books headed our way. I love it!

I’m 2/3 done with one of mine. Yay! But I start an edit job tomorrow. Hoping it doesn’t slow my reading pace too much.

message 370: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Tracker updated marking Hannah for the final Yahtzee category. She has informed me she'll be posting several books today, so I'll be updating again whenever that happens.

Happy reading today, friends!

Update on my books: The edit job came through today, but it's a relatively short book for me to work on, so I think my reading pace won't slow down overly much. On my Greece book, I have under 100 pages to go, and the suspense book is barely started but should fly as the first couple of chapters did yesterday.

Monique the Book Geek (moniquethebookgeek) Wow! You all are such incredible readers! :)

I read the first four chapters of "Astray" yesterday and it gave me some interesting dreams last night. It's the first book in a Christian fantasy fiction trilogy, with magical places, people, and creatures. I'm now starting on Chapter 5, hoping to get a lot of reading done tonight. :)

message 372: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Awesome, Monique. I hope the dreams aren’t too scary!

message 373: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Updated the tracker with round two completions (still working on four books as a team to finish it up) and round three claimed spots.

We're doing the Three of a Kind and Four of a Kind a little differently this time because of the books Hannah and I are already working on. They will fit best there rather than any other spot, so those two sections will NOT be Christian Fiction OR replaceable this time around.

Monique, if Maria finishes a book(s) before the last four round-two books get done, please only replace your slot as the other three books are already well in progress. There are lots of slots open in round three, so we can hold any of Maria's books (or the one you're working on) for once we're able to post for round three. Thank you!

Monique the Book Geek (moniquethebookgeek) It's so nice to see you here, Maria! :) What I read also influences my dreams all the time, especially what I'm reading as I'm falling asleep, which I love... unless it's something nightmarish. I've enjoyed the dreams "Astray" has given me these last two nights. :)

I've posted Maria's "A Tide Worth Turning" read for the Four of a Kind #1 task, and I'll save my reads now for Round 3. :)

Monique the Book Geek (moniquethebookgeek) So... It looks like our only remaining Round 2 tasks (in progress) are now:

Three of a Kind #2 - Abigail

Four of a Kind #3 - Andrea

Large Straight #1 - Hannah

For Round 3...

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Do you have any favorite books through the game so far?

I really enjoyed the Mysterious Benedict Society series and Kim Sawyer’s Ours for a Season.

Monique the Book Geek (moniquethebookgeek) Thank you Andrea & Maria. It's always a pleasure to help make these challenges easier and more enjoyable for participants. :)

Andrea wrote: "Do you have any favorite books through the game so far?"

Hmm... of the books I've read and am currently reading for this challenge...
Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson Dead Lake by Darcy Coates The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett Who Was Harry Houdini? by Tui T. Sutherland Gossamer by Lois Lowry The Killing Tide (Coastal Guardians, #1) by Dani Pettrey Astray (Ariboslia #1) by J.F. Rogers
My favorites are:
Dead Lake by Darcy Coates The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett The Killing Tide (Coastal Guardians, #1) by Dani Pettrey Astray (Ariboslia #1) by J.F. Rogers —All very different books.

It's crazy to think this challenge started only about three and a half weeks ago. We've all gotten through so many books in this time! :)
