Hollywood sources are reporting this morning that Kim Stanley Robinson's Red Mars, Green Mars, Blue Mars trilogy about colonizing and terraforming Mars is being developed for television.

Spike TV, Vince Gerardis Adapting ‘Red Mars’ as Original Scripted Series (Variety)

An interesting choice for TV. The novels combined a good deal of hard science fiction with personal soap opera.

I don't think I've watched Spike TV since "Blade" (2006).
