I dont really know.. Tbh for one i do not know if his mother would be able or would do a protection spell to protect him (ofcourse she would) .. 2nd i think it was kinda with the DA that he become more confident cuz he wasnt always confident. I hope he would.

I think Neville would have made a good story

yeah he would have...its just that they had to bring up other characters like sirius to connect him with

he could have, I've written a fic about that, if Voldemort hunted Neville's parents instead of Harry's. It's named : Neville Longbottom.

Of course he could have...he's as good as Harry. Better, I'd say.

Erm, I would say probably yes, but not because Neville is as strong/talented as Harry but because the whole series is essentially the story of how Voldemort destroyed himself.

It was Voldemort who gave Harry the gift of Parseltongue.
It was Voldemort who killed Lily giving Harry protection.
It was Voldemort who then killed Harry/his own horcrux and in doing so made it so that he was unable to harm any other wizard/witch at Hogwarts.

It doesn't really matter who was chosen out of Harry and Neville because ultimately the result would have been the same.

Besides, it was also Voldemort who ordered Bellatrix and co to torture Nevville's parents, in doing so he gave Harry one of his most loyal supporters.

I think he has the courage, but he isn't sure enough of himself- however, since he's from a huge wizarding family, he might be brought up by wizards and heard about him being the chosen one all throughout his life. So, Neville would really be a different person if he was the Chosen One.
