Hi Helen, I was quite surprised to see Nicci French on your list! Very few GR members even mention them!

I'm fairly certain that I own ALL of their books, including "Thursday's Children" - which I bought online from a UK Bookseller "Waterstones" ONE FULL YEAR before it was available in the US!

(When "Waiting For Wednesday" was published here in 2013, I wrote to the US Publishers (Penguin) asking if we were going to have to wait another whole year for the next 'Frieda Klein Mystery'?)

They said the next book was already published in the UK but we'd have to wait. Not one for waiting, I searched online, found Waterstones AND "Thursday's Children."

Since it was published here nearly six months ago, I'm thinking about writing to "Penguin" again and asking the same question!!

BTW: Being from the UK yourself, have you seen or heard of any clues about the next Nicci French 'Frieda Klein' book?

Helen (helenwright24) | 6 comments Hi,

My first encounter with Nicci French was back when I was about 18, killing me softly, It was truly one of the first books that I really couldn't put down and had to read more and more, I've read a few but im trying to space them out so I don't ejd up reading them all at once,

But sadly to be honest, I'm not too sure when their next books are out :(

I feel strongly about Harlan Coben's books too, I know more people criticise them on Goodreads that rate them but I find them VERY hard to put down and very hard to wait for the next Harlan Coben book to read

Helen (helenwright24) | 6 comments Hi Bert,

Which book is the next one in line, I can see at a quick glance that the 4th book is already out

VERY interesting! "Killing Me Softly" was my very first Nicci French book, also! I bought from a place that sold 'Used Everything' simply because it sounded interesting!

I brought it home and it went onto our bookshelves for a long time. Eventually I got it down, just for something to read.

WOW! As you said, I could NOT put it down!

By then many of the Nicci French books were 'Out of Print' - so I bought them through Amazon's "New & Used Books" 'Marketplace' at great prices for 'Like-new' books.

Have you ever used Amazon's "Marketplace?" (Apparently a bunch of 'Mom and Pop' stores.) Amazon charges a flat rate for shipping, $3.99 (even for books I've bought from the UK.)

For example, I just checked "Killing Me Softly." A "Used - Very Good" copy sells for only $0.99 Cents!
--------------------------

I've also read some of Harlan Coben's books and enjoyed them - but if you were to ask which ones, it's been long enough that I have no idea.

According to Amazon, that last book was published March 26, 2014 - "Thursday's Children."

Unlike you, 'Trying to space then out' - I devoured them, and read all of the used 'Out of Print' books in Published Date order, unable to put any of them down!

Have you read the last four Nicci French books? - The Freida Klein series - (which includes that "Thursday's Children.")

(Four more books that you will be unable to Put Down!)
