HELLO!

Your first three characters, which are marked in yellow on your team's SS, are...

Aladdin, Tarzan, & Tinkerbell!!

message 16: by Bingbong (new)

Bingbong Aladdin
- Lamp on the cover
- Wish in title or in series name
- Features a Genie
- Tiger on the cover or as a pet
- 3+ colors on the cover
- Jasmine is the MC’s name
- MC goes undercover or uses an alias
- Involves traveling or flying
Tarzan
- Authors initials must be in JANE
- MC is an orphan
- A book translated into english
- Umbrella on cover
- Features a monkey
- Set in either Britain or Victorian era
- Takes place in a Jungle
- Ship on cover

Tinkerbell
-Wings in cover
-Book title starts with T
-Title has 10 letters only
-Features a character that is insecure
-Someone on the cover is wearing green
-Authors initials are on TINKERBELL
-Features a sassy character
-MC’s name starts with T\

Here are our 3 characters lists, should we choose and tell each other?
If i understand correctly we must cover four of the eight lists in order to move on to the next character, Can we read any of these three characters or must we start with aladdin?

Yes correct 😘

message 19: by Keri (new)

Keri | 1873 comments Okay so should we just add ours into the spreadsheet as we read and see what they fit for?

Or maybe discuss any already planned books we have like I have a couple BR set up, and see what we want to fit where?

I’m down for whatever you guys think.

message 20: by Bingbong (new)

Bingbong Keri I think discussing it would be very good since we have to finish 4 of the 8 topics.

I would like to read The Night Circus from Erin Morgenstern

It could fit in under
Title the Tarzan topic - title starts with T or
set in Britain

message 21: by Keri (new)

Keri | 1873 comments Ooh I want to read that too, let me see if it fits into my TBR for the month and if it does we can get a buddy read thread and get more points too!

message 22: by Lee (new)

Lee | 174 comments I haven't planned any BR or any books that I might want to read next month, so if any of y'all want to BR a book we can do that! And if I can get a copy of a book one of y'all want to read and it fits more than one theme I'll join!

Warcross - 3+ colors on cover (Aladdin)

A Man Called Ove - Translated into english (Tarzan)

The King of Scars - Book title starts with T (Tinkerbell)

message 23: by Bingbong (new)

Bingbong Fantastic news!! A BR will be amazing!!

I am currently at a loss as to what to read after The Night Circus so I am open to suggestions!!

Another book that has been on my TBR for ages is. The Kite Runner. THis could fit in with Aladdin - involves traveling

message 24: by Esther (last edited Aug 30, 2019 09:01AM) (new)

Esther | 1829 comments I am a little confused. Are we going to read books that only fit in the Aladdin category until we finish 4, or can we put our books under any character?

Also, I am planning on reading...
Star Darlings: Stealing Starlight
The Dragonet Prophecy
The Lost Heir
Design for Dying

Star Darlings: Stealing Starlight and The Dragonet Prophecy would fit under Tinkerbell and Aladdin.

message 25: by Lee (new)

Lee | 174 comments I vote we read books that would fit any category and work on all the characters at once.

message 26: by Esther (new)

Esther | 1829 comments Same, but I think we should also discuss what category we plan on doing.

message 27: by ~ Giulia ~ (new)

~ Giulia ~ | 689 comments I can do the umbrella one

message 28: by Esther (new)

Esther | 1829 comments I am pretty sure I can do the one with wings and the one where someone needs to be wearing green.

message 29: by ~ Giulia ~ (new)

~ Giulia ~ | 689 comments Should we start filling the spreadsheet with the books we plan to start with first?

message 30: by Bingbong (new)

Bingbong I agree with Erin. lets do all at once. And agree that we must discuss

I am going to look at all the books you guys are planning to read and then i will also see if i can get them then a buddy read will be great.

message 31: by Keri (new)

Keri | 1873 comments You mean all of the three characters we were given right? Not ALL of them total? I definitely agree if it’s we should read for all of the characters we have been given until we get four tasks complete then we should focus on the others.

I also think each time we finish one we are given another so then we’ll have more fresh tasks to choose from.

I say we start filling in the spreadsheet but only as we are currently reading so we have the best chance of finishing more characters quickly.

Sound good? And if someone finishes one that another person puts a book in but they haven’t started reading yet and it would help us complete a character (like it’s the 4th one and we’d finish and get a new one) then we should all be open to moving our planned but not yet started books to later tasks.

Thoughts?

message 32: by ~ Giulia ~ (new)

~ Giulia ~ | 689 comments Sounds good, Keri :)

message 33: by ~ Giulia ~ (new)

~ Giulia ~ | 689 comments The two books I'll start tomorrow are Evil Under the Sun (Hercule Poirot, #24) by Agatha Christie Children of Time (Children of Time #1) by Adrian Tchaikovsky

I've put Evil Under the Sun for umbrella. I'll wait a few days to add Children of Time because it's rather long, but it can probably work for (space)ship on cover.

message 34: by Lee (new)

Lee | 174 comments Alright I have finished There's Something About Sweetie. I'll get the review written asap!

message 35: by Bingbong (new)

Bingbong Hi
The books for buddy read, can it be any buddy read, or must it be withing our group?

I just finished night circus, will do review now I want to start 11/22/63 from Stephen King today, I want to buddy read that with my friend, so hope it will count because its LOOOOONGGGG

message 36: by Keri (new)

Keri | 1873 comments It only counts for points if it’s a buddy read within our group and you make at least four comments on the thread, then you post that link with your review.

message 37: by Keri (new)

Keri | 1873 comments I’m currently reading The Half Life of Molly Pierce and The Moon and More. I have to figure out where they fit into the spreadsheet still, I chose them for other challenges.

message 38: by Bingbong (new)

Bingbong Hi everyone

I need some help please

How do I add a link of a BR thread in my review
And how do i add a link to my review instead of adding the whole review

message 39: by Esther (new)

Esther | 1829 comments I am pretty sure that you just copy and paste the URL for both.

message 40: by Esther (new)

Esther | 1829 comments I will not be reading Design for Dying. The first 50 or so pages were not attention-grabbing, so I never got into it.

message 41: by Keri (new)

Keri | 1873 comments Yes Adrie, Bookworm is right you just go to the page with your review and the page where your BR is and for each copy the URL and then paste that in when you post. :-)

message 42: by Bingbong (new)

Bingbong Thank you so much Keri and Bookworm

Bookworm I agree, life is too short and too filled with books to waste time on a book that you are not enjoying!!

message 43: by Lee (new)

Lee | 174 comments I've read two books but I don't think they can fit into any of the prompts we have right now. :c I'll try and get to the book I have on the spreadsheet asap!

message 44: by Keri (new)

Keri | 1873 comments We should get another character soon we only have one more task to get to four on one of ours!

message 45: by Keri (new)

Keri | 1873 comments It’s tinkerbell, if anyone’s reading for that right now, once we get one more book posted for that we’ll be done and get a new character with new tasks.

It looks like there are six in the spreadsheet, but we only need four until we get tinker bell a second time from what I understand, so once one of the three not marked as completed and reviewed gets done and posted, we should move the remaining two to other categories or to banked books unless we get tinkerbell again.

message 46: by Keri (new)

Keri | 1873 comments I just tried to look and Darkdawn, The Handmaid’s Tale, and The Grace Year all don’t seem to fit any of our other tasks from what I can tell. So when one of those three is finished and posted we should move the other two to banked so we can use them when tasks come up that they work for in maybe our new character :-)

The Aladdin tasks are kind of hard/specific

message 47: by ~ Giulia ~ (new)

~ Giulia ~ | 689 comments I'm sorry I haven't been very active this week because I have relatives visiting. Starting next week I should be able to read more.

Yes Aladdin ones are tough. Tomorrow I should be done with handmaids tale and 11/22/63

What does banked mean? Is it ones that have been fitted into the score sheet?

Do you think we should use a pass on Aladdin so that we can get new characters?

The banked tab COULD work for books that only work for a category that has already been used for. So you would have to wait to post it until you get that character again. Or it could work for books that work for future characters that you haven't gotten yet. I just kind of added it to each team just in case they needed it.

If your team doesn't need to use it, then you can add it to open categories that haven't been claimed yet and just wait to add the book(s) when you get that certain character.

message 50: by Esther (new)

Esther | 1829 comments All I have to do are my reviews for 4 books. I don't know when I will, but I will definitely try.
