Kateb | 959 comments i have been buying and keeping books since the early 70's. when we moved a few years ago i counted my books that of course had to come with me. there were 800. i have always re read the lot, but when working full time it would take me a week to do a book. SInce retiring we have built a place one block from a main library so i not have (still) re read my fav series and single books i have bought new books to complete series that i originally got from the library. my hubby has insisted built in book shelves with doors, so every spare wall in the house has this. a few years ago i decided to ween out my books. (running out of room) and again re read the books, getting rid of series that i found less entertaining. i was so proud i gave away 400 books. sighhhhhh. So asking my fav re read is very difficult. Maybe Laurell Hamilton, Raymond Fiest, John Conroe,

Tyler Bowler | 41 comments This may be weird, but with all the books I want to read I can’t bring myself to reread a book…

Same for me, read it twice this year. It is my favorite book of my 2022 challenge. I also reread hunger games and harry potter.

DivaDiane SM | 3676 comments Tyler, I’m very much of the same mind as you, but in recent years I’ve reread a few much loved books and really gained a lot from the experience, especially if I was doing it as a buddy read. Maybe it’s time to try it?

Adrian Deans (adriandeans) | 280 comments Re-reading (as you know what's coming) gives an excellent insight into how the author set up the story.

Also, I so often get stuff on subsequent reads that I never quite got the first time.

Also, also... great books are fun to experience again.

message 113: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellehartline) | 3171 comments Oops, sorry! My most recent re-reads:

All three books in Patricia McKillip's Riddle-master trilogy.

I'm currently on #22 of Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe series. This series re-read brings me up to date until #23 comes out next year.

Several months back I re-read both Janny Wurts' Wars of Light and Shadow series and the whole Jhereg series by Steven Brust.

Stephen Burridge | 507 comments I reread a lot of thrillers and crime novels, often multiple times. Dick Francis, Donald E. Westlake, Thomas Perry. This year I reread some John Sandford. I’ve recently reread (Sue Grafton’s) A is for Alibi and B is for Burglar and it looks like I may read my way through that series again.

message 115: by Gabriel (new)

Gabriel Lisbôa | 2 comments Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone. Just like the movie, I can watch it a lot of times and I never get tired
