Kathy (readr4ever) | 300 comments Oh my, I received another order from Amazon today, which includes the following books:

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight (just wanted a new copy of it)

Impossible Things (I'm really on a Connie Willis kick)

Airs Above the Ground (Ordered this one after seeing the Lipizanner Stallions with my granddaughter)

Clouds of WitnessThe Unpleasantness at the Bellona Club (Can't believe I haven't read Dorothy Sayers' mysteries yet)

The Unpleasantness at the Bellona Club

The Hand That First Held Mine (I loved The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox by O'Farrell)

The Canterbury Tales: A Retelling (I wanted a prose version of one of the greatest poems ever)

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) Kathy - Dorothy Sayers is fantastic. Enjoy!

Bite Me
Wicked Lovely

I swear, if I spent as much time reading as I do shopping for new books, I would would be finished with my hundreds of books...

I hear ya Tracy! I think I spend way more time buying than reading LOL

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) I used to be that way, too!

Kathy (readr4ever) | 300 comments Tracy and Donna, I am a kindred buying spirit. And, now with goodreads, my reading time is down even further.

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) Joseph - I really enjoy books by F. Scott Fitgerald. Enjoy!

This is not really a purchase per say but someone left a bunch of books in the lobby of my building and most of them were Danielle Steel and Mary Higgins Clark but I did get The Tenderness of Wolves... I heard about it so I picked it up!

Oh, I loved [book:The Tenderness of Wolves
by Steff Penny, Donna. It is an excellent novel. I've never read Danielle Steel, guess I'm a book snob where she's concerned (shame on me). I realize that Mary Higgins Clark is rather a light-weight read, too, but I seem to always enjoy the mysteries she presents.

Tracy | 71 comments Well, after scouring the two local used book shops and not being able to park at the library, I broke down and bought Moloka'i by Alan Brennert at Borders. I thought about buying it on my kindle, but I think I am going to send it to my Hawaiian cousin when I am done reading it so I needed to get the paperback version to do that.

I also coudln't resist buying Alice in Wonderland and Philosophy Curiouser And Curiouser (The Blackwell Philosophy and Pop Culture Series) by William Irwin .

Kathy (readr4ever) | 300 comments Yesterday, I bought The God of the Hive by Laurie R. King and Vampire Stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, edited by Robert Eighteen-Bisang and Martin H. Greenber (the first complete collection of Doyle's vampire stories).

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) Kathy - I am really interested to know what you think if Conan Doyle's vampire stories.

I'll try to remember and get back to you on it, Lyn. I'm not sure right now if I'm going to try and fit them in with my other reading or read them straight through. I'm curious how they will compare to other vampire lit that I enjoy.

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) That's what I am curious about, too.

No Tracy send it to meeeee! LOL And bring yourself with the book, I would love to see you especially since I might be moving soon...

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) My mom and I just started reading the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. My mom had bought the first two at Sam's, then I bought the 4th and 6th at the library sale, so yesterday I went to the used book store and bought 3, 5, and 7 through 10. That should keep us busy for a while.

Colleen (nightoleander) | 676 comments I bought Children of Cambodia's Killing Fields: Memoirs by Survivors from a landmine victim selling books on the street whilst in Cambodia. I am such a sucker for memoirs lately.

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) Just so you know, I am stalking you through the threads! LOL

message 296: by Colleen (new)

Colleen (nightoleander) | 676 comments Ahhh!!!! LOL I am running over to THL to check the polls and the Tudor TV show thread. Then coming back here to catch up, I am too scared to go to AHoR... one, er, two groups at a time. ;p

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) Nothing much going on at HofR, so no worries. Our discussion of Marie Antoinette is supposed to start later this week.
