I will totally let you know what I think about this book when I get to it. I have quite a list to work through, but this one came highly recommended from the woman at B/N, she told me to read all of Mary Stewart's stuff, so I will do that!

My husband doesn't read at all!!! He loves that I do but that is as close to as reading as he gets!

He would much rather me spend money on books than on clothes and shoes, so I don't get in trouble for my book shopping sprees either, anyways, it is hard to sneak in bags full of books they tend to be a little bulky! Also, once I need another bookshelf and he has to help with it, he figures it out that I have been shopping yet again!

I just received my copy of the new released book by Rani Manicka. It is called The Japanese Lover. I loved The Rice Mother and have yet to read Touching Earth but it is on my soon-to-read-but-collecting-dust list.

Oil! by Upton Sinclair
Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh
Another trip to the thrift store by my husband. He got me:
All the Pretty Horses
Love Medicine
Divisadero
In the Time of the Butterflies
Rise and Shine

and this one is for Lyn because she read it and loved it and wants me to read it

LOL. At least you get something! Today is our anniversary and I doubt I will get anything. I don't count those books because he found them!

I have an issue with that too, COlleen. I buy so many books that I am not sure if I own them or not. I have brought the same books twice!
I have been looking for this book forever but I could never remember the name but thanks to Wikipedia I think I found it>
So I just ordered The Making of a Surgeon by William A. Nolen.
I remember reading this when I was younger. My Dad gave me it to read and I did the mistake and let my cousin borrow it and I never saw it again. I would really love my original copy back!!!

I know this isn't the right place to go for this but my addiction just reached new heights. I joined audible.com and they are having this $5.95 book sale. It's so easy to point and click, now I know how Aly feels with her kindle! I also know no one here will tell me to calm down with the book buying! GR enables my book obsession! LOL
For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway (have it but would rather listen to it as it is a huge book)

I am now going to make it a point to read at least one book that I purchase. Meaning, I will read at least one book out of my previous order. I have a tendency to buy buy buy but not read them for quite sometime.
I think I may go with the book I purposly went to B&N to buy: Deeply, Desperately (after Tha Zahir of course)
