I found an OCAD MRP that might be useful (From Factory to Future: Designing a Better Environment For Learners K-6.) It talks about education for the future. I found that exploring environments for learning can have similarities with what I am loooking for. "Environments for better conversations"...Of course, my environment will be visually based and may not be an environment, and education can have many other implications, but some of the conclusion cited on Janet's MRP may be relevant for my studies:

Janet Personal conclusion:
As discovered, there is not one typical classroom; some may have four walls and a door, and others may be in the form of a computer screen, or even an outdoor space. In examining physical learning spaces, it can be concluded that the most significant criteria is that they be designed to be highly flexible and adaptable, encourage collaboration and creativity, and foster critical thinking. A successful tool should motivate the user to restructure the learning space in accordance with the learner’s needs.

About building spaces for learning:

While each approach is different, they share several fundamental principles (montessori, Waldorf, Steiner):
•Educate the whole child - mind, body and spirit.
•Learning is social, cooperative and collaborative.
•Learning should actively engage both the brain and the body.
•Learning spaces are teaching tools.
•Parents and the community must be involved.
