Conor McGreevy (daft_goose) | 17 comments Do you know of any books that nearly all center around activity in the character's home? Thriller/Horror/Mystery books in particular. I particularly like haunted house books but thrillers and mystery are just as welcome!

Sick House by Jeff Strand
It's been a while since I read this but I think most of the action takes place in one house.

The Red Tree (ignore the cover; it's a good book in spite of that)

The House Next Door (this is a bit of a cheat since it's, well, the house next door)

The Collected Fiction, Vol. 2: The House on the Borderland and Other Mysterious Places

Deadfall Hotel

The Cormorant

The Harrowing

The Rim of Morning: Two Tales of Cosmic Horror (contains 2 novels, The Edge of Running Water is most like what you're looking for)

Softspoken

The Cypress House

Nyctophobia

Isis (relying on memory here, and it may not be reliable)

Apparently I like this premise, too.

Felina The Troop takes place entirely on a very tiny island. The only thing in the island is a small house. This book is atmospheric on an extreme level.

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments This just gave me a thought about books that take place not just solely in houses but solely anywhere such as a factory, warehouse, asylum, outside, etc. Off of that thought it also makes me wonder if there's any significance of basing a novel solely in one place.
