HollywoodFrank | 3 comments Amazon... sadly ;)

Kateb | 959 comments I use the library to give me an idea of new authors and so on, once I like a series I buy the paper version. I have always re read series years later so hard to find in the library.
To buy a book I shop around for the cheapest site: fishpond, book depository, 2nd hand shops.
Although I use a kindle (greatest thing to have to travel, and i always have a few books on it in my bag for those moments when you are waiting) I know that my re reading habit will worry that the ebook would be there 10 years on.
Then again I do the naughty thing of borrowing ebooks off various friends to find out if I like something, if I do then I buy. Saves an awful lot of wasted books bought

Neal (infinispace) Almost exclusively Amazon. We live way out in the sticks, and for us to go buy a book at a bookstore (which are few and far between these days), our round trip drive (just driving) would be 2 hours, plus gas.

Don't get me wrong, I love perusing bookstores, but Amazon Prime is just utterly convenient for us.

Yes, I still buy books printed on paper, and always will as long as I'm able. :-p

Kateb | 959 comments depends where you live, buying amazon in Australia is expensive because of the shipping. whereas fishpond and book depository match their prices and have free delivery. If they dont have a book i want i go on amazon find the number and contact these others to get it for me.

Aleah (aleahmarie) I'm a librarian, an aspiring minimalist, and I'm on a tight budget... so I borrow my books. It's great, really. I can get nearly any book I want through our inter-library borrowing system. The only down side is that I have to wait in line like everyone else, so I generally can't read a new release the first week that its out. I still prefer paper books to e-books, although I could borrow the latter from the library as well.

Carol Tensen I look up books that interest me on Amazon and add them to my wish list. Then I go to my library's website to see if they're available and at which branch. If the library doesn't have something, I check out a couple of used bookstores. If I'm Hell bound to read a book, I try eBay or Amazon. There are other book sites, but sci-fi is often in short supply.

Kateb | 959 comments my problem with the library is that it is great to find a new series, but if you like one and there are a number of books in the series you have to wait for the next book . Maybe books 4 and 5 are there but you cant read it until Books 2 and 3 come back aaahhhhhh. Also if I like a series I know I will re read it in a few years.
ebooks have their place I always carry one in my handbag , who knows when the car/train / visit to a doctor will mean extra reading time.

Vroom | 1 comments I buy almost exclusively from Amazon these days, both ebooks and paperbooks. Their used book system is insanely handy, with classics basically selling for $2-$4 shipped. Just bought my kid National Velvet in good condition and it was $3.47 total. I'm wary of ebook DRM but since I can read on more of my machines with Amazon than iBooks or Nooks, I tend to go with that. I've ordered in the past from places like Lulu and Smashwords, but it's not nearly as convenient as Amazon.

Jamie (JayZutoia) Hey all I get my paper books from the library, and purchased ones sometimes abebooks which very good value or amazon, barnes and noble. my ebooks amazon for me.

my preference varies from paper to ebooks. I found I do tend to read more in one sitting from my kindle.

Kate (sleepingforests) | 2 comments I work in a library so I get most of my books from there. Otherwise I use my kindle or occasionally buy from a bookstore or charity online.
